MacDonald: Protest This

I find it difficult to imagine that the 20% of the population with Trump Derangement Syndrome or those who are TDS “adjacent” could ever tire of expressing their ire in public. It’s more or less all they’ve got. What does your party stand for? Hating Trump! We’re not Trump. Trump is evil. He is destroying Democracy.

With a few exceptions, such as attacking ICE agents, which is not precisely a “protest,” even by Demorrhoid standards, where are they?

Could the proglodytes be suffering from endless protest weariness? The Women’s March, remember them, put out a call to demonstrate something-something on Independence Day (they call it the 4th of July), but almost no one signed up.

There are 280 events planned, according to The Women’s March’s website, and 5,989 attendees registered. That marks a sharp decline in interest as compared to June’s “No Kings” protests. There were 820 planned protest locations for that event, according to The Guardian, which cites turnout estimates between 4 million and 6 million people.

Calling the barbecue, which you had already planned as an event to protest Trump, likely limits its appeal. Vegan hot dogs, impossible burgers, box water, and outrage. Yum.

Sure. Do that. But what makes that any different from Tuesday? You hate the guy. You hate his supporters. You are the sort of person who wakes up and makes hating Trump the pinnacle of your day. It defines you. That’s not a protest, that’s an illness.

I never hated Barack Obama, or Kamala, or Uncle Joe. They amuse me, but they are just tools of the Socialist transition to Marxism; it’s their policies I oppose, and maybe that’s the issue with Dems getting worn down. The party’s Leadership lacks any leadership or policies. Obama’s magic negro dust isn’t what it used to be. And the few, dare I call them ideas, that the properly penitent progressive can repeat from memory are unpopular with 70-80% of the citizens with whom they share the ballot box.

Grooming kids, men in women’s sports, open borders, disarming law-abiding citizens, supporting Hamas, defending government waste, fraud, and abuse, are not exactly pillars of campaign success outside the Liberal ghettoes that give us Sandy Cortez and Maxine Waters.

And even that is a problem.

NY Dems have elevated an America-hating Marxist as the next potential Mayor of the nation’s largest city. He is a champion of all the things that are getting Democrats recalled and Left-Wing DAs replaced, but is currently the most inspirational figure to the left, in the worst way, at the worst time.

Radical demonstrators stormed Washington Square Park in New York City on July 4, setting fire to the American flag in an orchestrated display of anti-American sentiment. Chanting “F*ck the Fourth” and “We need a new flag,” the crowd left scorched remnants of the red, white, and blue strewn across the pavement.

Even without that black eye on “the brand,” the Republicans have an image of the President in front of the American flag, fist raised in defense after being shot. Democrats have a shirtless illegal on a car roof waving a Mexican flag surrounded by burning vehicles and chaos in parts of Los Angeles not burned down by forest fires, in a liberal-run city that is literally bankrupt.

That’s not to say Republicans can’t still snatch defeat from the jaws of victory come November 2026, but Democrats are making it as difficult as possible for that to happen. They voted against no taxes on tips, overtime, and social security. They voted against keeping illegals off the public dole. They tried to save a massive economy-crushing tax hike that would hit working-class Americans, families, and small business owners hardest. And whining about 10,000 more border patrol agents when you clapped like proud grade school parents for 87,000 new armed IRS agents won’t play well outside the confines of the ideological blue bubbles, where wrecking minority neighborhoods saves democracy.

None of that is going to play well, no matter what the economy is doing, but then, the economy is starting to show signs of life in the wake of Dems claiming the opposite.

If you get everything wrong and are on the wrong side of everything else, even your own supporters will eventually grow tired of backing you. Maybe they want to be allowed to have some friends over without making about the latest outrage? The no kings thing was great, but well, it’s hot out and burning things is bad for the climate.

The summer of Love 2025 isn’t materializing as exepcted. Endless protests are waning. And maybe that’s because the FBI is investigating the money trail for No Kings Day and the LA riots. Or perhaps it’s a systemic malaise. With a few die-hard exceptions, they are suffering from a severe case of Electile dysfunction while Trump continues to rack up wins even Democrats find it difficult to deny.

A trend we can hope will carry us through 2026 and 2028.
