When political opponents call their opponents names it tells the American people that they have no message to promote policies that will make our lives better. This is what the Democrats and their supporters in the mass media are doing in their political discourse.
The Democrats have used terms like Nazi, Gestapo (Gov. Waltz (D-MN), when he referred to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents trying to protect our fellow citizens from criminals, fascists, and they have even called President Trump Hitler. How absurd is it to call Trump the same name (Hitler)that wanted to commit genocide on the Jewish people, when President Trump is the staunchest ally that Israel has in the Middle East?
The Democrats use these terms because, as you have probably noticed, they have no message or policies that will make life better for everyday Americans. Trump has that message, and that is why he took away a significant part of the Democratic base. Name-calling does not put food on the table. Sound economic policies do. Did you notice that when Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) set the record time for a Senate filibuster, he did not offer up one policy that would make our lives better?
Now let’s turn to the most absurd metaphor used this week by the “no king” demonstrators protesting when most of America was honoring the 250th anniversary of the US. Army. The protests were intended to distract America from honoring these Veterans. Do they hate America this much?
I was traveling to Portland, Maine, for a Father’s Day visit with my daughter, traveling along RT. 101 in the Candia area, it was pouring rain. We noticed that there were people up on the overpass waving the American flag and holding up a Veterans sign in the rain. When we got to Portland, we encountered demonstrators marching with makeshift “no king” signs. The people we encountered were white middle-aged men and women. I did not see any people of color marching.
The next day, one of our regional newspapers featured a picture of these demonstrators on its front page, showing people of similar demographics to those we saw in Portland. That paper did not show a similar picture of the thousands of people in Washington, DC. Honoring the US Army at the parade. This biased reporting was like the coverage of the “no king” protests by the mass media. They offered not one word of support for the parade. This shows us all how biased the media still is in their reporting and carrying the water for the Left-wing portion of the Democratic Party.
If these protesters were concerned about no more kings, they should have been honoring the demonstration of the Army’s anniversary parade. These protestors have no clue about our US history. The media do know our history and should be ashamed of their biased reporting.
Here is the history. In 1775, the ragamuffin group of Revolutionary soldiers was the beginning of what we know as the US Army today. That group of soldiers held up a metaphorical “no king” banner in their minds along with General George Washington because this army was fighting to defeat the only king America has ever had, King George III. To call Trump a king is preposterous. A king says Let it be written, let it be done. Trump has used all his persuasive skills to get his slim majority in the House to pass his pro-working people tax bill. He is now using the same skills to get that bill through the slim majority he has in the Senate. This is what a politician understands about our democratic process. Not what a king would have to do.
This same US army was freezing to death in Valley Forge, where they were encamped for General Washington’s next move. On Christmas Eve, our US Army crossed the freezing Delaware River into Trenton, NJ, and defeated the Hessians (German mercenary soldiers) by surprise at midnight to defeat the only king America has ever had. Then, this same army honors the people who have kept us free for 250 years.
This army then finally went to Yorktown and defeated British General Cornwallis, which forced the British army to retreat and ultimately led to the defeat of King George III. The revolution was won, and for the next 250 years, we did what President Trump acknowledged and provided all Americans the privilege to honor 250 years of service. I hope you can see how foolish and absurd the protests this weekend were. Parents, have your children been taught in school about the sacrifices and the success of our US Army in 1775, and how that same army is what we honor today?
