Donald Trump continues to get the people he wants as the United States Senate has just confirmed Kash Patel to run the FBI.
The Senate has narrowly voted, 51-49, to confirm Kash Patel to be FBI Director. Collins and Lisa Murkowski joined all 47 Democrats in voting no on Patel’s nomination.
That was NBC – expect more pearl-clutching and gnashing of teeth as the day progresses.
Fox had some column inches on Democrat pre-confirmation warnings about Patel.
“You will rue the day of this vote if it’s in favor of Kash Patel, because the American people will hold you accountable, and we will make sure that the American people know about this vote,” he concluded.
The Senate will vote to end debate on Patel’s nomination in the late morning and conduct a final confirmation vote in the afternoon.
Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the Judiciary Committee ranking member, led the morning press conference, telling reporters, “My Senate Republican colleagues are willfully ignoring myriad red flags about Mr. Patel, especially his recurring instinct to threaten retribution against his perceived enemies.”
This is Democrat projection at its finest. Senate Dems don’t have any issue with unqualified appointments. Biden’s administration was full of them, and they ran the country. Their problem with Patel is they don’t own him, they can’t control him, and they are terrified he will do to them and their water carriers in the FBI what they’ve been doing to Trump and Republicans for years.
And so he may, though I expect he will be required – unlike Wray or Comey et al. – to follow the actual law.
Congrats to President Trump Kash Patel and Tony Fauci, who can hire soon-to-be former members of the FBI for his private security detail after Trump nixed his taxpayer-funded one.
Now, excuse me while I find more popcorn.
