Why Can’t “Transgender Girls” Play On Boys Teams?

One of the unholy truths about the linguistic mind game that surrounds gender-bending ethics is that immutable, observable, physical characteristics, with genetic markers down to the cellular level, are a social construct, while progressive ideas about them are not. It sounds silly because it is, but this fiction comes with certain amusing contradictions.

You can’t BE a transgirl unless you are a boy.

Biological fact: to be a trans-girl, you must first be a boy who can still be attracted to girls in girls’ locker rooms (insert joke about how all straight men are really lesbians). The infamous Lia Thomas was attracted to (the sort of) women with whom he coincidentally shared showers and changing spaces.

If Thomas made those women uncomfortable, it was their problem, not his, and the school and the world tried to make that the only acceptable norm.

Girls (the real ones – no Y Chromosome) must “check their interests, values, concerns, modesty, or propriety at the door.” They are not permitted to be uncomfortable; that would be bigoted. In all cases, the majority is required to suck up this discomfort or any inconvenience, modesty, or concern, in obedience to the cultural mandate being shoved down their throats.

Safety is an issue, but if you bring it up, you are a transphobic bigot. You are not allowed to be disrespectful or bully or be mean, which is a lot to ask of a High School girl when dealing with regular girls and regular boys. All told, the situation is a ridiculous and unnecessary mess easily solved.

If this is just about allowing them to play on “sports teams,” the transgirls can play on a co-ed team or the boy’s team.

To start, girls identifying as boys already enjoy the same cultural locker-room and bathroom protections of the gender-bending ethicists. Someone identifying as a girl has just as much right to play on the boy’s team, and the other “boys” are confined by the same cultural restrictions; the rules that apply to the girls must also apply to the boys, and everyone has the same plumbing.

No one is denying anyone the right to play school sports because of a mental illness (by which I mean the enablers of this gender-bending bullshit, not its victims). Girls don’t have to worry about getting injured by a bigger, faster, stronger biological male.

Girls are not being asked to give up victories, awards, or scholarships to someone with a penis. And there will never be any chance or risk of a young lady or woman having to look at a penis or of showing something of their own to a member of the opposite physical sex that they are not prepared to share.

If you want justice for trans rights, you should be fighting to let transgirls (who must first be boys) participate on boys’ teams the same way you thought you wanted girls who think they are boys to participate on boys’ teams.

Everyone retains their protected cultural identity, and the mentally ill, gender-bending ethicists can stop wasting money on lawsuits to protect the right of boys and men (who, if I recall, are potential sexual predators and rapists) from easy access to other people’s daughters.

And if you are worried about whether or not they can earn a spot, instead of costing a capable girl a place on a girl’s team (or a podium), require the boy’s team to kick a more capable player off to make room and call that a “right” or “trans justice.”
