Our Day of Thanks

Often, the tactics of the enemy are plain to see. This is the case with a repetitive Thanksgiving Day query that simply is a brazen attempt to erase one American day of thankfulness and family unity. Rather than allowing recognition of this special occasion as a reflection back to America’s beginnings and humble acknowledgements to our Creator, those who want to harm America continue with their targeting of the American family.

Older Americans grew up with and still remember a more innocent time of thanks. Thanksgiving was mainly family time with greeting of hugs and kisses and of course, football games. Traditional holiday gatherings of family, even with neighbors and friends are now being muddied with the media’s interest about what to do with “those liberals” who will visit and dine on Thanksgiving. Of what media value could this be? None, except to negate a time when America’s unity would be strengthened.

Actually this special American holiday has already been slighted with these routine and premature Christmas start ups. Not too long ago, Saint Nick would follow, not precede our turkey day. In sync with this 1619 re-write of our Founding, observances such as Thanksgiving, with its religious undertones, all act as a red flag to those holding their secularized anti-American mindset.

November is America’s thankful time of the year. In fact, our thankful nature receives a prior revving with another November day; Veterans Day. No wonder the borrowing of a December refrain, “it’s the time of the year!”

More upsetting than the media’s disunity remark is the caution of some families regarding possible inner family tensions. As stated, such nonsense is meant to diminish family unity and cohesiveness, a condition which even predates America! Along with stirring up family friction, this attacking of traditions and religious beliefs isn’t just reserved to November. I mean who in their right minds could sense racism with the festive singing of White Christmas? Simple, one who is a frustrated communist!

America’s one tidal wave of change occurred when prayer became illegal in public classrooms. This quickly piggybacked onto outlawing Christian displays in public. Imagine this taking place in a country which continues in to be publicly thankful to their Creator on one special day in back to back months! This doesn’t explain their concerns with our visiting relatives but then, it does make sense when considering their destructive playbook.

One helpful hint if I may. For many Thanksgiving Days, my lady and I listened to the late Rush Limbaugh’s Story of Thanksgiving on his radio program. His flawless presentation differed from the tripe of “giving thanks to the Indians,” in that it was both educational and inspiring but most of all, detailed and accurate. Today, after Rush passed away in 2021, I still listen to his presentation on the internet with Rush Limbaugh’s Thanksgiving Day replay. Its listening is well worth the time, especially for younger minds.

So, with this week’s special day of thanks, we need to put aside all issues that torment and divide so that, for one damn day, families can act like families again. We need to unite our family with prayerful thoughts for giving humble thanks to the one life-giving source which created us all.

The religious holidays of Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving rile heathens the most. Their targeting of religion has slowly affected and weakened our Christian fellowship, which in turn has given rise to what previously was unthinkable or forbidden. Families need to be aware and guard against this.

Writer and author Alex Newman mentioned in writing a few years ago, “…as far back as 1848, when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels called for ‘abolition of family’…” Newman added, “The family stands as an immovable bulwark protecting humanity against tyranny, hatred, and the sinister agendas being proposed…” Thus, the reason for its abolition!

Over the years the family’s “passing down” ritual has largely disappeared, thus hampering the more practical and useful learning of our young. As an example, few realize that many of the Founders thoroughly read the bible every year? John Quincy Adams stated; I have myself for many years made it a practice to read the Bible once every year.”

If leaving politics at the doorstep helps with maintaining a family’s unity, do it. Along with the turkey, this is what Thanksgiving Day has always brought to the table. Similar with the pilgrims being guided by native Americans, modern Thanksgivings should be for hugging those who we care about and love. If Rush was still on the air, he would close with, “ditto that Snerdly!”
