If you cannot beat Trump, then go after his appointments and nominees. Trump won the Electoral College, the Popular Vote, and both wings of Congress, but that is not enough for the opposition to gracefully accept the people Trump wants on his staff. There is virtually no person Trump has named for a post that the Left has not ginned up some fictitious allegation of unscrupulous activity in their past. Most are simply attention-grabbing statements by talking heads or their guests, neither of which is challenged.
According to Former NAACP Legal Defense Fund president Sherrilyn Ifill who claimed:
“This is someone who, you know, is known to be a white supremacist, known to be an extremist. Whose platform, whose book is basically about his opposition to the advancement of black officers to the top brass, and the military is actually a very important area for black advancement. And so him selecting that particular person– And by the way, the Department of Defense has 3 million employees. There’s no evidence that this man has ever run anything. The fact that he is a veteran is simply insufficient.” Ifill then described Hegseth’s nomination as “eminently dangerous.”
This ignorant individual then went on to also call Trump a white supremacist, for good measure. Chris Hayes tried to soften his guest’s comments but did not stop before he called Hegseth an extremist. Hegseth is one of the primary targets, but there are others.
Matt Gaetz is another nominee with a bullseye on his back. Gaetz resigned from the House this week to give time for a quick election to replace him in Congress. Representing the Florida East Coast, this seat should remain Red. But, Red is what his critics are seeing. They are dredging up previous sexual allegations that have been disposed of in the courts, but that doesn’t stop the Left, who are on a crusade to make every Trump nomination look like the devil personified in the legacy media. CNN and MSNBC cannot make these massive cuts in on-air personalities quickly enough, and these fringe players cannot give them enough reason to cut them.
RFK Jr is an extreme vaccine denier. Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian agent. Karoline Leavitt is too young (KJP cannot carry Karoline’s lunchbox). All of these nominations will need to pass the Senate’s scrutiny. Though the Republicans have the majority, there are enough Rhinos to make things difficult. Even the loyalty to Trump of new Senate Majority Leader, Thune (R-SD), is in question. Though Thune did not vote to impeach, he did say his vote was not an exoneration of Trump.
The only man they have not attacked yet is Mike Huckabee, who is Trump’s pick for Ambassador to Israel. Huckabee would replace Jacob Yew, who must be in exile. I have not seen one statement from Yew’s office since the October 7 invasion of Israel. Huckabee must be off limits to the Left’s public humiliation. Huckabee is the popular former Governor of Arkansas, a former Presidential candidate, and a pastor. The last item on his resume is what makes him immune. The Left is hedging their bets on the possibility there is a God by leaving the man of the cloth alone.
Not all, but most of the folks on the Left are evil, angry people. They will do anything and set up whatever roadblocks possible to a Trump platform and then tell you they are the Party of Unity. Forget unity; these folks need to work on credibility.
