Kamala Harris will look back on this failed Presidential run and have a lifetime of finger-pointing ahead of her. There will be plenty of people to blame for her failure to topple the Great Orange Threat, but one thing is guaranteed: she will never point a finger at the woman in the mirror. There is much talk about the tremendous turnover of Harris’ VP staff, with estimates in excess of 90%. The numbers don’t lie, and they give merit to the rumors that Harris is a tough woman to work for, always pointing at others to blame for her failures. This upcoming loss to Donald Trump will be devastating to Kamala Harris and the Democrats, but like Hillary Clinton, Harris will never accept the loss or the blame.
The Harris campaign has been a mess from the start, but it did have a dubious beginning. Harris did not earn, nor did she deserve the nomination. In two runs for the top job, she has no primary wins and no votes in her column. She dropped out of the race in 2020 before a ballot had been cast, and she stole the current nomination away from Joe Biden. She was a poor Vice President in an unpopular administration. She had no claim to the ticket, but she managed to put herself in the position to become the first female president, and like her career, she failed miserably. Unlike Joe Biden, who had a lengthy, mediocre career in politics, Kamala will have a very short one and a lifetime to live with the results.
Whoever has been making the decisions for the Harris campaign has had a rough ride, with a series of bad choices. The first was Tim Walz’s selection to be Harris’s running mate. Walz has added nothing to the ticket, has far too many questions in his past, and reflects Harris’ poor decision making. She should have gone with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, but he truthfully should be on top of the ticket and would have overshadowed Harris. The second was to hide and attempt to ride the Joy and Hope Vibe to the White House. This was a very short campaign but long enough for the voters to see through the smoke and for the Vibe to lose its steam. Harris has never given the voters a reason to vote for her for a better future. She has all but promised a continuation of the last four years, which has been hard on most Americans.
That brings us to the last wrong decision, which is really a combination of two choices. Her handlers had no choice but to put Harris before the people. She has been on a media blitz in the last couple of weeks. These appearances have been primarily in friendly environments, like Oprah, The View, and Colbert, but she did go on 60 Minutes and FOX News. None of these appearances went well, and her ratings continued to plummet, which brings us to her final move. She has gone full rage and has opted to make the final two weeks a personal attack on Donald Trump. So far, this may prove to be the worst decision, and to many, it has been more of a projection than an attack campaign.
The Unstable and Unfit labels she has been using incessantly for Trump have been falling flat, and many think these labels are better suited for her than her opponent. This week, she has pivoted to attack Trump’s stamina and schedule. This is ludicrous on many fronts. First, it is an outright lie, and anyone who has a TV can see the number of events that Trump does per day. Just this week, he attended the Al Smith Dinner, which Kamala refused to participate in. It went on late Thursday night, and he appeared on Fox and Friends early Friday morning. She accused him of canceling events, but the only event that did not happen was because of a death threat on his life and not fatigue. Harris was also the VP of President Biden, who rarely had more than one event on his daily schedule and often called a lid on the day by noon. She should undoubtedly recognize a lack of energy and stamina.
There will be much blame and excuses, but thank God the voters did not make the final mistake and put Kamala in the White House.
