America’s Sanctuary City mayors got off easy for years, pontificating about human rights and the special place immigrants have in our history. But what amounted to virtue signaling over handfuls of “refugees,’ was reduced to a nightmarish reality when exercised as intended. Biden-Harris opened the door, and the illegals took those mayors at their word.
The past two years have been top-heavy, with stories of states and cities stretched to their physical and fiscal limits. Drugs, crime, and virtue signally mayors shouting enough. Given this news from Mexico, they might not want to complain quite so loudly.
The severed head of a newly elected mayor in southern Mexico was found on top of his vehicle just six days into his tenure. Footage of the gruesome scene was shared on X, highlighting Mexico as a lawless narco-state run by ultra-violent cartels.
On Sept. 30, Alejandro Arcos was sworn in as the mayor of Chilpancingo, the capital and second-largest city of the Mexican state of Guerrero. The newly elected mayor didn’t even last a week because, on Sunday, he was assassinated, with his head severed and placed on the top of the vehicle as a reminder to local government officials that cartels run the show.
Alejandro was a reformer. He had no intention of making deals with the cartels. He’s dead. Beheaded. (graphic content warning).
Some of these cartels are ‘top-heavy,” with profits from moving people across America, missing the border. They are enriched by drug trafficking that kills American kids. Harris and Biden imported this culture and lifestyle into America.
Venezuelan gangs have conquered territory in and around Colorado. The problem has gotten so bad that neighboring towns are suing Denver.
“We currently have entire complexes under gang control — complexes where staff have been beaten up, they’ve been threatened, their families have been threatened [and] complexes where there are no staff left on the property,” Aurora City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky said last month. “These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang.
Part if my response to this news was,
[Y]es, there are violent Venezuelan gangs in America, and they are annexing property. It will remain theirs (the property) until the military goes in to retake it—presumably ours. I doubt the locals have the resources. But until then, how does that affect life (and if you are scared for yours) the ability to sell your home and escape the Denver migrant virus?
Given the resources gangs and cartels have, perhaps it would be easier just to buy up politicians, cops, and judges to look the other way when they commit a crime, which might be why they chose Democrat-run sanctuary cities to conquer. Many of them are already on board with that plan.
Enclaves where peace with gangs and drug lords is not an option. Gotham cities from sea to rising sea.
That is the promise of the Harris Walz administration—more of this. And you might say they would never let it get that far, but they not only let it get this far -the Dems did it deliberately, even at the expense of Democrat constituencies and Democrat politicians.
That’s not about to stop. a Harris-Walz administration would make shadow puppets about improving border security while the invasion continues.
Even sanctuary city mayors can’t like that plan much, but what can they do? Eric Adams got bitchy, and his party sent the FBI and DOJ after him. Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson fumed (at Ron DeSantis) as he took the heat from his constituents but must not have pissed off his masters in DC (no indictments for him – yet). He could still pull a Lori Lightfoot and bus the “migrants” into the city suburbs, but she lost her reelection to Johnson over migrants crowding and crime.
Closer to home, Burlington, Vermont, has “migrants” shooting each other (there is no VT Kumbaya effect, after all, I guess). Boston Mayor Michelle Woo got snippy but hasn’t rankled her political masters, nor has Mass Guv Maura Healey, who loved her Sanctuary state until she had to declare a state of emergency and had her Administration ask residents to volunteer to take some of them in.
Aside from offering them plane tickets to someone else’s sanctuary city (re-arranging Deck chairs on the SS Harris), they are out of ideas. Stuff them into public housing, hotels, motels, and your house (that’s next). Allow them to continue to drain resources from everywhere, which impacts everyone, even without drugs and violent crime.
That’s a promise Kamala Harris could keep. More of the same, after all, what else does she know except how to piss off staff who’d instead find some other job in DC than ladder climb with Kamala. That’s not promising.
Trump, for his part, wants them gone. He’d deport them, criminals first. Which do you think, in the long run, is better for you, your family, and America?
