There’s not much we can say about Thomas Crooks. He is the invisible 20-year-old with no internet history, nothing on his phone, and no social media footprint. The FBI is reported to have cracked his laptop, but there’s no “there” there. They have no idea who this guy is.
After three days, an enigmatic portrait emerged of the 20-year-old man who came close to killing former President Donald Trump with a high-velocity bullet: He was an intelligent loner with few friends, an apparently thin social media footprint and no hints of strong political beliefs that would suggest a motive for an attempted assassination.
Even after the FBI cracked into Thomas Matthew Crooks’ cellphone, scoured his computer, home and car, and interviewed more than 100 people, the mystery of why he opened fire on Trump’s rally Saturday, a bullet grazing the GOP nominee’s ear, remained as elusive as the moment it happened.
They’ll play the investigation game and put their best agents on it, knowing there’s nothing to find, but that doesn’t mean the FBI doesn’t know Crooks or have a history they have no intention of sharing.
Remember Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter—a guy who shot and killed many, probably to cover up the execution of one person. He’s a ghost too.
Federal Bureau of (Political) Intervention
It is not a good look for a corrupt, weaponized agency with police powers and a growing history of shabbily conducted partisan interventions based on demonstrably false “evidence.” One that was tasked for years to undermine a sitting president and current candidate, so how far of a leap is it to undermine him for good? He is, after all, a threat to the current FBI (CIA, DHS, DoD, DoE…), and polls suggest that cheating may not be enough to keep him out of the White House this time around.
Too many people want him to make America great again. They remember and reminisce, and real hops are hard to stop.
What do they have to lose? Taking out Mr. Trump would likely result in the very unrest for which they’ve longed, and the biggest living threat to their corrupt hold on power would be eliminated. We all saw it coming. Many suspect there will be other attempts, and that’s not a crazy idea, but what about Thomas Crooks? The entire day’s events prior to the attack were strange enough, but is it stranger than the enigma of a young man whose digital footprint is so benign, nearly non-existent? Isn’t that the stuff of spy thrillers? He is another ghost.
I don’t have proof; this is all speculation, but I think the FBI knew him, had something on him, managed his profile, kept it and him quiet, and now he’s dead.
Dead and a dead end. And dead white kids don’t matter.
