OK, very short post – thrown up for discussion.
Now what?
Seriously, now what? At this point nobody with three brain cells that speak to each other believes that this guy “somehow” got past security to do this all on his own. At the very least, multiple videos exist of people telling police officers – repeatedly – that there’s a guy on the roof with what looks like a rifle… and Trump is not scooped off the stage???
Finger pointing has begun, and from Jeff Kuhner this morning all the fedboy agencies have clammed up. Nobody’s saying nothing.
Did this guy have active help? Was he “just” deliberately ignored? Is there more to him than we know already? Was the Secret Service compromised to let this go through? All sorts of questions. But that’s not the question I want to pose.
What if… WHAT IF the next guy is successful? Because we know there’s going to be a next guy. And if that fails, another. And another. And another. As the IRA was reputed to have said in their assassination attempts on British royals, “You have to successfully block us every time. We just need to succeed once.”
Please don’t compromise yourself to say something stupid like “If they get him, it’s time to go out shooting Democrats” (something I’ve seen suggested here and there) – no, it isn’t, and I’m not proposing it as a next step. As I said in my Avalanche post:
I am an American, and do not wish for violence in this country or indeed any country, whether on a local scale, regional, or national. I do not wish to see people hurting others, nor arson, or beatings, or any asymmetric warfare techniques to be used against anyone, Left or Right, or Hashem forbid an actual civil war. I state, clearly, that such things are the last thing on my mind. In other words, I just want to be left alone and do not want The Switch to be thrown whether in America or elsewhere,,,
But the fundamental question remains. If someone succeeds in killing Trump…
