I am delighted with the Republican National Committee’s selection of Reince Priebus as Chairman. Reince is a strong pro-life conservative who has demonstrated his ability to lead our party in many ways. As Chairman of the Wisconsin GOP, Reince led his State Party to success in 2010 as they flipped control of Governor, US Senator, two US House seats, State Assembly, and the State Senate to Republicans.
He is a dynamic fundraiser and is ready to tackle the job of raising the money necessary to retire the RNC debt and provide a war chest of funds that will be necessary to defeat Obama in 2012.
He is personable and accessible and I believe is dedicated to working with the RNC members as a team and uniting our Party. As one who was able to see our problems from the inside, I believe he has the perspective to be able to focus on our goals and not on himself. He knows the hours of work that will be required on a daily basis to bring in the funds necessary to get our candidates elected and at the same time he has demonstrated a principled adherence to the core beliefs of the GOP and our platform.
A good indicator that he is focused on the job at hand was his decision to forgo any victory party or celebration. Instead, within twenty-four hours of being elected, he already had staff, organizational, finance, and leadership meetings with our national leaders and elected officials. He will hit the ground running from day one as he promised.
Under his leadership, I feel confident that we will see a renewed energy in the RNC and a renewed respect for the organization among donors. As a committed Christian, Chairman Priebus will take his role and responsibility seriously as a servant-leader.
I believe this young, talented, and articulate State Chairman will make us proud as our RNC Chairman. He will tackle the challenges that are before us with energy, professionalism and good humor. He has, over the past two years, been a good friend of New Hampshire and he is a strong supporter of our First In The Nation primary. I think we are in very good hands indeed.
