This is the main repository for Progressives saying the quiet parts out loud – they don’t like America, really don’t like Americans that won’t jackboot to their outlook, and really do hate the US Constitution (and most State ones as well).  Their own words tell us that!

Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal sums up these micro-totalitarians, perfect examples of the Progressive  philosophy:

“The essence of modern Democratic Progressivism is: You will participate in what we have created for you, and you will comply with the law’s demands.”

One used to believe that before pen was set to legislative paper, our elected officials WOULD contemplate “is this Constitutional?”.  This is the elitism of the Democrat Party (and some Republicans) and it lines up with their ideology of collectivism and control.

THIS, my friends, is Totalitarianism written kinda slow.

And here is how some elected Progressives view Government, to create what they will force you to comply with, plus some unelected and unaccountable  Progressives (re: Bureaucrats) that share the same outlook. That they matter and you are looked at as just getting in their way of remaking society in their own image should be horrifying.

First are some NH based “truths” with others below.  Newer ones are at the bottom of each section:

  • NH State Rep Kris Roberts (D): “Government has to protect us from our own stupidity.”
  • NH State Rep Leigh Webb (D): “The role of government is to legislate behavior“
  • NH State Rep Laura Pantelakos (D): “I don’t care about protecting peoples’ Liberty“
  • NH State Rep  John Mann (D): “liberty” is either an ideology or a gross misrepresentation and oversimplification (accidental or otherwise) of what government is for.”
  • NH State Senator Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton): “Everybody in the chamber respects personal freedoms and individual rights…[BUT] We’re also trying to ensure that all citizens in the state have the protection they need. It’s unclear to me how you can possibly have all the benefits of coverage without everyone being under the tent.
  • NH State Rep Cynthia Chase (D): (concerning the Free State Project having chosen NH as their destination state, even as Chase did the same as a R.I. transplant): “What we can do is make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict freedoms that they think they will find here.”
  • NH State Rep. Debra DeSimone (R): “The Constitution is a guideline”
  • NH State Rep. Sandra Keans (R, now D): “I don’t try to justify anything by the Constitution, it’s not my job and I don’t want to do it”.
  • NH State Rep. Suzanne Mercer Vail (D): “One rarely considered consequence of the Free State Project, will be the formation of another form of government. The aim is to overpower the state government. The method is to weaken the laws of New Hampshire, creating more freedom and liberty in a state where that is maxed.”
  • NH State Rep. Susan Almy (D): “Well, you don’t get to decide what is Constitutional and I don’t get to decide what is Constitutional, the judiciary decides what is Constitutional”.
  • NH State Rep. Jan Schmidt:  Yes, that is correct… All murders aren’t the same

    So, according to Jan Schmidt the liberal democrat, there is a huge distinction between the types of murders. A crazed man shooting kids in a school is a horrible tragedy deserving of immediate legislation that restricts lawful gun owners’ rights, while a doctor murdering young, innocent, defenseless babies is such an insignificant event that it doesn’t even warrant news coverage. Way to go Jan!!! Better to kill the kids before they get to school age, eh?

    Yes, that is correct… All murders aren’t the same

  •  Kerrie Diers (Exec. Dir. of the Nashua (New Hampshire) Regional Planning Commission) doesn’t care much that your land gets in the way of her planning (for your own good as in “WHY do our perceptions of the needs of the Collective have to give way to what Individuals own?”):

  • Granite State Futures (the US Federal Govt HUD/EPA/DOT “Sustainable Communities Initiative” here in NH):  Identifying and Overcoming Barriers – One of the steps in the visioning and planning process to be used by each region will be to identify existing and potential barriers to ensuring sustainable communities and to articulate the strategies the regions will use to mitigate or overcome each barrier. Anticipated barriers include NH’s strong tradition of individual property rights and resultant resistance to planning and zoning…Tim Carter:  “There is absolutely no uncertainty in those above statements. Translated: Private property rights are under attack by Granite State Future.”
  • NH State Rep. Michael Cahill (D-Newmarket): “Since we are refusing to raise revenues to fund needed programs, to fund services to disabled, for example, have you looked at euthanasia?”
  • Elaine Andrews-Ahearn (former NH State Rep): “I think people are so unbelievably unsophisticated. They do not pay attention to the elections, they do not know who they are voting for and they do not vote. We refer to this problem as ‘low information voters,’ and it’s a huge problem in the state of New Hampshire.”

Non-NH based Progressives:

  • Former US Secretary of State, US Senator and First Lady Hillary Clinton:
    • We just can’t trust the American people to make those types of choices…Government has to make those choices for people.
    • “The [‘Hillary Care’] plan prescribed some eye-popping maximum fines: $5,000 for refusing to join the government mandated health plan; $5,000 for failing to pay premiums on time; 15 years in prison for doctors who received ‘anything of value’ in exchange for helping patients short circuit bureaucracy; $10,000 a day for faulty physician paperwork; and $50,000 for unauthorized patient treatment. When told the plan could bankrupt small businesses, Mrs. Clinton said, ‘I can’t be responsible for every under-capitalized small business in America’!” — Tony Snow reporting on Hillary’s health care plan.
    • There is no such thing as other people’s children (as reported by Newsweek, although I can’t find a URL)
    • “We need to stop  worrying about the rights of the  individual and start worrying about what is best for society!” — Hillary Clinton, 1993
    • “We’re going to take things away from you” – Hillary Clinton, June 2004
    • “Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know, that old theory, trickle-down economics, that has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly. You know, one of the things my husband says when people say ‘Well, what did you bring to Washington?’ he said, ‘Well, I brought arithmetic.” (October 2014)
    • “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
    • When people diss the government — we’re really dissing ourselves and dissing our democracy (But MKH at Hot Air also has the right of it: The 2016 likely nominee for the Democratic Party has given us another creepy, statist attempt to socialize the blame for government’s bumbling, so that all of us are responsible, not any one person actually in the government.)
    • In the United States, I will admit,  there are people who still feel vulnerable or marginalized as a result of their religious beliefs. And we have seen how the incendiary actions of just a very few people, a handful in a country of nearly 300 million, can create wide ripples of intolerance. We also understand that, for 235 years, freedom of expression has been a universal right at the core of our democracy. So we are focused on promoting interfaith education and collaboration, enforcing antidiscrimination laws, protecting the rights of all people to worship as they choose, and to use some old-fashioned techniques of peer pressure and shaming, so that people don’t feel that they have the support to do what we abhor.
    • I am impatient and I sometimes come across as impatient, which is not always attractive, and I get really frustrated with people who don’t understand what I think it’s going to take to make our country great tomorrow just like we were yesterday.
    • “You know, we can’t keep talking about our dependence on foreign oil and the need to deal with global warming and the challenge that it poses to our climate and to God’s creation and just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people.
    • “There are things we can do that will relieve the burdens on middle-class families, and the money should come from those who have it,”
    • “No. We just can’t trust the American people to make those types of choices … Government has to make those choices for people.”  Rep. Dennis Hastert of Illinois, then the chairman of the Republicans’ House task force on health care, began meeting with Hillary Clinton in 1993. He tried discussing changes to the healthcare bill such as adding healthcare savings accounts. He concluded that there was no negotiating with Mrs. Clinton.  Hastert recalled:

      I mentioned … to the first lady about medical savings accounts and just right away she said, “We can’t do that.” And I said, “Well, why?” And she said, “Well, there’s two reasons.” And I said, “Well, what are they?”

      [And she said] “The first reason is with the medical savings account, people have to act on their own and make their own decisions about health care. And they have to make sure that they get the inoculations and the preventative care that they need, and we just think that people will skip too much because in a medical savings account if you don’t spend it, you get to keep it or you can … accumulate it in a health care account.

      We just think people will be too focused on saving money and they won’t get the care for their children and themselves that they need.

      We think the government, by saying, ‘You have to make this schedule. You have to have your kids in for inoculations here, you have to do a prescreening here, you have to do this’ — the government will make better decisions than the people will make, and people will be healthier because of it.”

      I said, “Well, part of that’s an education process. People have to understand that [if] they behave in a certain way, they’re going to save money, [with the] preventive medicine issue — you get the prescreenings, if you can inoculate your kids you save money on it. I mean, they’re not sick. You save money.”

      She said, “No. We just can’t trust the American people to make those types of choices … Government has to make those choices for people.”

    • There is a constitutional right for people to own guns, but there’s also a constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…
  • US Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA):   “No, it’s because we have a misallocation of capital, a misallocation of wealth…I just feel very strongly, that it’s not just appropriations that’s causing this problem.  It’s the lack of the revenue that we should be taking in to meet our obligations as a country.”
  • Bernie Sanders (former Socialist Mayor of Burlington, VT, Socialist Congressman and current Senator from Vermont, and current Democrat (Socialist) candidate for President:
    • SANDERS TO CHARITIES: DROP DEAD”

For the kickoff of the 40th annual Chittenden County United Way fund-raising drive in Burlington, Vt., the sponsors considered themselves fortunate to have as guests Mayor Bernard Sanders of Burlington and Gov. Richard Snelling of Vermont. . .”I don’t believe in charities,” said Mayor Sanders, bringing a shocked silence to a packed hotel banquet room. The Mayor, who is a Socialist, went on to question the ”fundamental concepts on which charities are based” and contended that government, rather than charity organizations, should take over responsibility for social programs.

    • Enough is enough! […] How many homes can you own?”
  • President Obama (D-Il):
    • “I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money…when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”
    • …that my individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country. Unfortunately, I think that recognition requires that we make sacrifices and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to bring about a new day and a new age.”
    • “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.“
    • ” it is time to give America a raise”
    •  “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK…That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen”

    • President Barack Hussein Obama: And so, if we’re going to change how Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) think, we’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues,…
    • In America we have  this strong bias toward individual action. You know, we idolize the John Wayne hero who comes in to correct things with both guns blazing. But individual actions, individual dreams, are not sufficient. We must unite in collective action, build collective institutions and organizations.

  • Michelle Obama (First Lady of the US, (D-unelected Progressive  National Nanny):

In this election, and every election, it is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives.  And I am here tonight because in this election, there is only one person who I trust with that responsibility, only one person who I believe is truly qualified to be president of the United States, and that is our friend Hillary Clinton.”
  • US Interior Secretary Sally Jewell: “The “new energy future” will require the federal government to encourage “the right kinds of behavior””
  • US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan (w/regards to those fighting the top-down Federal takeover of the US Educational system via Common Core): “…white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were, and their school isn’t quite as good as they thought they were.”
  • US Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-FL): “America has topped the world, in many ways, [in] greed and selfish behavior.”

  • Naya Rivera (actress, singer) while on “The View”: I have to say I have a theory about showering, [which] is that I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics. I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing.

  • Chris Cuomo (son and brother of two Progressive NY Governors):

  • Nicholas Kristof, liberal columnists: Universities are the bedrock of progressive values, but the one kind of diversity that universities disregard is ideological and religious. We’re fine with people who don’t look like us, as long as they think like us.” Kristof writes in admitting liberal privilege and bias and showing how it’s hypocritical.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said Monday that all lawyers should be required to provide pro bono legal services:

“I believe in forced labor” when it comes to improving access to justice for the poor, she said during an appearance at the American Law Institute’s annual meeting in Washington. “If I had my way, I would make pro bono service a requirement.”

    • Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-New York): “The Second Amendment only protects the people who want all the guns they can have. The rest of us, we’ve got no Second Amendment. What are we supposed to do?”
    • Steve Kerr (coach of the Golden State Warriors): “I kind of think that our forefathers would not have ok’d automatic weapons to be sold to everybody if they existed back then. Let’s have some checks. It’s easier to get a gun than it is to get a driver’s license. It’s insane. And as somebody who’s had a family member shot and killed, it devastates me every time I read about this stuff— like what happened in Orlando— and then it’s even more devastating to see the government just cowing to the NRA and going to this totally outdated Bill Of Rights, right to bear arms. If you want to own a musket, fine, you know, but come on. The rest of the world thinks we’re insane. We are insane.”
    • Democratic Commissioner Ann Ravel, Federal Election Commission: My role in the commission is not to apply constitutional principles because I’m not on the Supreme Court. If I were, I’d be happy to do so. We’re a regulatory agency and our role is to follow the law and apply the law.
    • Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake: It’s a very delicate balancing act because while we try to make sure that they [the protesters, “Social Justice Warrior”, rioters, and paid provocateurs  -Skip] were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well, and we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate.
    • Professor Russell Rickford (Cornell University,  Black Lives Matter Protest, July 8, 2016): “We’ve got to build a grassroots, antiracist movement to defeat capitalism altogether and it’s not going to happen at the ballot box. There can be no human system under capitalism. Capitalism is an anti-human system.”
    • Joy Reid (MSNBC talk show hostess) on Hillary Clinton’s email lies (on Meet The Press): “Can I just say on the E-Mails? I think the blessing and the curse for Hillary Clinton is that the E-Mail story is complicated. So, the curse for her is that trying to explain it, her answers are so detailed and complicated, that when you explain you’re losing…But, it’s also so complicated when you talk to voters they don’t really get it. What they do understand is that they have Gmail, so it doesn’t sound like something criminal. So when Donald Trump goes over the top and tries to say that it’s something criminal, he kind of loses the audience too. It’s a blessing and a curse.”
    • Julie Bindel (contributor to the British Guardian newspaper – quite “Progressive”): All men are rapists and should be put in prison then shot
    • German President Joachim Gauck: “The elites are not the problem, the people are the problem.”
    • US Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ): “Any person in this party that does not support Trump at this point is increasing the chances of Hillary Clinton becoming president and destroying the Constitution,” Arizona Rep. Trent Franks told CNN Wednesday. “Therefore they are betraying this party. They are betraying the Constitution.”
    • Leonardo DiCaprio – noted actor, climate Warmist, and high carbon user as he jets around the world and entertains scads of scantily clad women on a bevy of gas guzzling superyachts:  “The scientific consensus is in and the argument is now over. If you do not believe in climate change, you do not believe in facts or in science or empirical truths and, therefore, in my humble opinion, should not be allowed to hold public office.”
    • Al Sharpton – noted “Reverend”, race-baiter, and famous tax-cheat: “While the rest of the country waves the flag of Americana, we understand we are not part of that. We don’t owe America anything – America owes us.”
    • Gov. Paul LePage (R-ME):“Sometimes, I wonder that our Constitution is not only broken, but we need a Donald Trump to show some authoritarian power in our country and bring back the rule of law because we’ve had eight years of a president, he’s an autocrat, he just does it on his own, he ignores Congress and every single day, we’re slipping into anarchy,” LePage said on Maine radio station WVOM…
    • Jerry Nadler (D-NY): 

Setup: former assistant U.S. attorney and self described conservative constitutionalist Andrew McCarthy argued during his testimony:

“principal purpose of the Constitution is to limit the power of government to intrude on the liberties and suppress the rights of the American people.”

Jerry Nadler (D-NY):  make that “historical correction” because he hears people saying the contrary and

“it really bothers me. The Constitution was enacted to strengthen government power to enable central government to lay taxes and to function effectively. We put limits on that through the Bill of Rights, but the Constitution was enacted for the opposite purpose,”

  • Lena Durham (self-absorbed Progressive actress): We believed that on November 9, they’d be licking their wounds while we celebrated. It is painful on a cellular level knowing those men got what they wanted, just as it’s painful to know you are hated for daring to ask for what is yours. It’s painful to know that white women, so unable to see the unity of female identity, so unable to look past their violent privilege, and so inoculated with hate for themselves, showed up to the polls for him, too.
  • Symone Sanders (former spox flack for Bernie Sanders) – goes all identity politics and invokes the RACE card – against her own RACIST! Party. To CNN: “In my opinion, we don’t need white people leading the Democratic Party right now“
  • Dr. Larry Summers (Ph.D, former Clinton Treasury Secretary):

    “What I’m worried about is that we’re going to do tax cuts that are going to cripple government for a generation“.

  • Jean-Claude Juncker (democratically UNelected President of the European Commission)

“Of course there will be transfers of sovereignty. But would I be intelligent to draw the attention of public opinion to this fact?”

  • House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.)…that Democrats are in fact people of faith and claimed Republicans “prey” on the American people: “I say they pray on church on Sunday and prey on people the rest of the week”
  • Mika Brzezinski, sidekick on the “Morning Joe” to Joe Scarborough said something very revealing about the MSM mindset concerning their job and us:

    Brzezinski said she is concerned about what Trump’s presidency may mean for the media. “Well, and I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he’s trying to undermine the media, trying to make up his own facts,” she said.

    “And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job,” she said.

    Really, to tell us things in such a way to think in the way you want us too?  One more time, this is the Progressive way – we will “take care of you” but you must give 100% assent to our philosophy; no individual thinking on your part.

  • California Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown on Meet The Press – did he REALLY say this about the Southern wall to keep out illegal immigrants – or keep us IN????

The wall, to me, is ominous. It reminds me too much of the Berlin Wall. When I see that 30-foot wall, I worry somehow, “Are they trying to keep me in, or keep them out?”

I really think people ought to be careful because there’s a lot of odor here of kind of a strongman, kind of a world where you want the ultimate leader here to be doing all this stuff. And having a wall locking the people in is one of those characteristics. I think Americans ought to be very careful when we make radical changes like a 30-foot wall keeping some in and some out.

  • On Tuesday, the California State Senate voted in favor of Senate Bill 497, which would restrict Californians from purchasing or transferring more than one firearm in a 30-day period.

“There is no need or reason why a person would need to purchase more than one gun a month,” the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge), said during the floor debate.

Look, if I had my druthers, the city government would determine every single plot of land, how development would proceed. And there would be very stringent requirements around income levels and rents. That’s a world I’d love to see, and I think what we have, in this city at least, are people who would love to have the New Deal back, on one level. They’d love to have a very, very powerful government, including a federal government, involved in directly addressing their day-to-day reality.

  • Self-avowed communist, Van Jones (former inner circle of President Obama’s advisors as the “Green guy” on ABC’s this week trashing Trump over “sabotaging” (THE Democrat word of the week!) Obamacare and attribute malice aforethought:

Well, at least this Progressive is open and honest about his intentions – he IS in favor of confiscation.  The problem with him, and pretty much all of the Democrats that run California as a one-party State, is that they aren’t just singling out those that “hurt people”. In every way possible, they are “infringing” on the right to keep and bear arms on people who are otherwise law abiding and peaceful.  That also includes passing laws that would make felons of them, threatening their Liberty and Private Property, just because they bought and own guns, ammo, and accessories that were legal at the time of purchase.THAT, my friends, is Totalitarianism written kinda slow.

  • New York Governor Andrew Cuomo:

So, take that all in.  Then read it again. So, take that all in.  Then read it again. Sit in silence and contemplate that because that IS HOW PROGRESSIVES view the United States.  We’re not a great county and never were because we “stole Indian land” and were “slave owners” and were “old white guys” (they have no idea the average age the Founding Fathers were at the start of the Revolutionary War).  And “Rich” – don’t forget that but many of them were either broke or dead or both by the end of the War.  But because of the “guilt” of their self-proclaimed Progressive Original Sins, America has never been nor can ever be until THEIR definition of greatness (which varies widely from the true definition of greatness and American Exceptionalism.  Until every single one of their religious tenets are realized, we are all guilty and, as Hillary said, Irredeemables. He has walked back that line since but I’m not sure that, other than for Republican campaign ad fodder, it will do much at all.  After all, he’s playing to his base and they ALL believe this – America is not Great.  They really don’t.  Until the country fully embraces their identity politics totem pole, until every oppressed group every micro-aggression thought of so far and stretching into the future (as the permanently aggrieved will ALWAYS come up with some new fantasmogorically fantasy “hurt”), we can’t be Great again.

  • It seems that NH State Rep Timmy Horrigan (Progressive Nasty Snitch – Durham) has decided that, because of health risks, those suffering from Tourrette’s Syndrome should not be allowed entrance to the NH House chamber.

They should accommodate US…We can’t accommodate everyone. Certainly, we wouldn’t let someone into the House with Ebola. We wouldn’t let someone into the House with Turrette’s Syndrome or a variety of….

It must be miserable for her here in NH where Whites make up 97% of the population. I’m betting that in her nightmares she sees nothing around her but KKK hoods. So what to do when those elected to lead our Government repudiate its foremost responsibility?  To remind you:

Progressivism is nothing more than a euphemism for “Slow Communism” or, if you like, “Incremental Socialism”.  Communism is the result of a quick “BANG!” while incremental Socialism is the proverbial hand torquing up the water temperature under the frog.  All it takes is an uninvolved electorate and people that think like this…

How is that NOT Tyranny? And each and every of these Prime Examples (along with their Republican counterparts) show how little regard they have the for the Individual.  If we cannot choose for ourselves, speak our minds, live our lives the way we wish to but instead, live our lives by how THEY decide for us, are we still the Land of the Free?  In this foreign political philosophy they call Progressivism, Liberty does not exist for the Individual.  Instead, Government is to be a throwback to the time when a select few ruled over the rest.  Then it was the Nobility and Monarchies – exactly what our ancestors fled.  Now, Progressives wish to resurrect that totalitarian milieu with them as rulers – but are openly afraid to admit it.

And then they wonder why the Right is fearful of their government?

State Senator Mary Ann Carlson (D-VT): “We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that. If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime.”
