A Hooksett woman apparently in dire need of a writing instrument, dialed 911 to see if they have any Bics they could throw her way. I’m not kidding; she dialed 911 for a writing pen. It’s not so odd. The article went on to say that another woman needed help ordering for Chinese food, so she also rang up local ones in blue to find out if the Pu Pu Platter was all it was cracked up to be.

It’s getting harder and harder to hide. Leviathan’s hungry, as always, and becoming more brash. It’s not going to sit idle doing nothing, that’s the plebe’s job. No, it must eat. It has ambitions. It’s going to slide its tendrils over farms, through fields, down main street, into shops, and homes of the individuals with the sole purpose of slaying the independent nature and enslaving the free.

Case in point: Leviathan’s quest to crush “mountain pride” in Ash County, North Carolina. This story aired last week on Fox as a part of a larger series entitled “The Great Food Stamp Binge”. In short, Ash County didn’t have enough people on food stamps. The government didn’t like that. The USDA gave an award to a “social worker” for changing that. As the federal government sees it, “mountain pride” is a problem.

The government keeps track of how many people in an area are eligible for food stamps and how many signed up for benefits. When a place, like Ash County, stands out with an unexpectedly high number of residents refusing food stamps, a network of social service types from local state and federal governments and non-profits too springs into action.

Last week in a post titled “It’s kind of like Constitutional Carry” I reported an observation from that weeks GrokTalk! in which Evan Nappen noted: the New Hampshire State Supreme Court Ruling (On what the definition of a loaded gun is in RSA 159:4) got us closer to Constitutional carry.

My actual words were, “…we are happy to report that with a bit of a twist, New Hampshire now has, sort of, kind of, …almost, constitutional carry.”

It is not ‘Constitutional Carry,’ which is the right of any law abiding citizen to carry and conceal a loaded weapon with a chambered round, without a government issued ‘permit,’ but it is a great step in the right direction and here’s why.

New Hampshire Democrat Cindy Rosenwald should have become infamous for her remarks on the Patch in which she admitted that the departing Democrat legislative majority, and party leadership, knew there was an $800 million dollar hole in the New Hampshire budget and that they (Democrats) knew they would have to cut.  This was all forgotten in the narrative-writing whirlwind that surrounded the new Republican legislatures follow-up budget in which they went about doing what Cindy had claimed Democrats had planned all along.

Well, she’s got another opportunity for fame and misfortune.  Elected house Democrat and Fiance Committee and party leader Cindy Rosenwald has the additional distinction of having allowed someone who is currently a regional field director for Virginia candidate for Governor Terry McAuliffe to register to vote from her home in Nashua last November.

Really?  I wonder what possible conclusions might be reached at by a bunch of Global warming advocates and rent seekers lead by the US Senate’s Environmental ATM machine to New Hampshire?

Respect for Women Begins with Respect by Women

In recent weeks there has been discussion around the topic of abortion as well as female objectification when recent sexting scandals were brought to light.

It is important to note that I myself am a single, twenty-four year old woman involved in activism in New Hampshire.  On a regular basis I am subject to constant criticism because of my pro-life views.

I think I speak on behalf of all women when I say enough is enough.  We need to stand up for ourselves and not be degrading to one another. While as females we may hold a variety of different opinions and beliefs there is one thing that binds us all and that is our gender.  If we ever hope to be respected by men we must first respect ourselves.

Last week a known blogger here in the Granite State found it necessary to tweet the following, “@ashpratte @demchairs at least they won’t hit you. Or leer at your boobs. Or call you a “vagina”. They aren’t republican men after all.”

October 1 – the day that Obama and the Democrats finally unleash their nationalization of Healthcare and begins your dependency on Government for your healthcare.  We have always thought of ourselves as being the independent types – no longer.  Instead, we may well be in that position, to quote from Charles Dickens, “Please sir, may I have some more”?  Sure, the Democrats will say “No, that can’t be – we don’t own the hospitals, the labs and such!  The doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals don’t work for us”!  They would be right.

But if you can write the legislation that controls how healthcare is to be delivered (or not), the allowable procedures, how records are to be kept, and what the Government is willing to pay (and thus set the pricing) – well, let’s be honest.  If Government controls everything around it, they effectively own it almost more than the actual owners.  Those owners (be they profit or non-profits [heck, the Obama Administration also controls what profits can be made – and by whom] are just along for the ride.

Martha’s Motel – sign in, sign out.  Sign in, sign out; a veritable revolving door of political operatives at what almost seemed to be a “political operative barracks” for those folks coming in to work for Democrats – and then voting here in NH even as their plans were to leave to return to their own domiciles elsewhere in the US.  Well, in math, there is a theorem: if one then many.  Seems to hold true in the political realm too – where there is one political operative, there’s bound to be a whole bunch of them.  And if there is a singular Martha Fuller Clark Motel, well, there has to be more illegal voter nest.

(emphasis mine).  In the case of the NH Senate, they are 1/3 of the branches of government that can take power from the Individuals.  There has been no government in history that has not, over its entire time in existence, decided to gather more and more power into self.  The Founders knew that and tried to create a system and a philosophy that extolled individual liberties over that of “The State”.  They knew, I bet, that with any system, there would be those that would come along and disagree with that, probably vehemently.  After all, there are those that cannot resist the urge to obtain, and then wield, power over their co-citizens.

We call them Progressives,  Big Governmenters, or Statists and they exist on both sides of the aisle (under the guise of being “pragmatists”).  Of late history, there has only been one political leader that tried (and had some success) here in NH that has tried to roll back that accumulation of power into Concord (versus merely keeping the status quo), and that was Bill O’Brien. Now, with Peter Bragdon deciding to heed the calls to step down from being Senate President, a new one must be chosen.  Certainly, I believe that the “Establishment” would want someone like Senators Chuck Morse or Sharon Carson chosen.  I disagree, totally.
