We here at DupreyGrok are doing what we do given the circumstances: exposing RINO hypocrites and progressive water carriers. The latest liberal Aquarian bundled in Republican clothing is Steve Duprey. Mr. Duprey loathes the Tea Party. He is also a life-long advocate for abortion, something that should appear incompatible with his role as an RNC National Committeeman.

The expression of this incompatibility, and calls for him to step down, has unnerved the NHGOP leadership. An apology has been issued which Skip fisked at great length here, but it is important for us to remember that they will do or say anything to (Please!)  let them get away with this.

On Sunday the Grafton County Fish and Game Association in West Lebanon held their 3rd Annual Ladies Only Range Day (L.O.R.D.). It’s a ladies only event where ladies can shoot pistols and revolvers, rifles, shotguns and this year they added archery. Many of the women who attend have never shot a firearm; some have shot pistols but not rifles and others have hunted but never shot pistols.

Yesterday the New Hampshire Democrat Party sent a mailer to voters in Rockingham District 32 for the special election coming up on May 19th. The district includes Candia, Deerfield, Nottingham and Northwood. The two candidates in the running are Yvonne Dean-Bailey (Republican) and Maureen Mann(Democrat). The problem with the mailer is it’s not only filled with outrageous and asinine lies but it neglects to mention that neither Mann nor Dean-Bailey are current representatives who had no vote on the budget.

SB30 would open the flood gates to taxpayer backed bailouts of private ventures.  This is not just about dumping 30 million on some rich white guys with a dream in the North Country; a dream more likely to fail than not by the way (otherwise they wouldn’t need public money would they?).  This is also about piling on more interest on the old debt we have and the new we will quickly accumulate, should SB30 pass.  More debt harpoons the bond rating which costs us more in interest payments.

Increased interest on debt saps the budget and leads to more and ever-higher taxes to pay debt service, all so cronies can bail out private investors when it suits them.

The vote is today.  Reach out and touch someone in the NH House.  Let them know that this bill is bad for NH and we are watching.

The Freshman legislator, Josh Moore, is the only one from my town who got it “right.”

Seriously?  He’s been in politics for 4 decades and thinks this slithering meek “apology” is sufficient?  At least when Jim Foley’s lies caught up with him, he resigned – everything even as he tried to “apologize” as well.  At least Foley’s folly was self-contained – Duprey’s money went to Planned Parenthood (a self-described enemy of Republicans).  And it has become the buzz on the Right side of NH politics (and rightfully size).  Thus, the groveling has started; this snippet from the Monitor (full piece after the jump; reformatted, emphasis mine):

One of New Hampshire’s most prominent Republican activists and the state’s current national committeeman, Duprey apologized yesterday for showing up – however briefly or accidentally – at a local Planned Parenthood fundraiser last week. The Globe article had referenced Duprey as an example of a pro-abortion rights Republican and reported that he had recently “attended a Planned Parenthood fundraiser with the group’s national president.” That passing reference triggered criticism on social media and other local websites, including Granite Grok and Leaven For The Loaf, which focuses on anti-abortion issues.

One of the bones that was picked when Jack Kimball that was used to kick him out as NH GOP Chair was that he signed a petition so that a Libertarian would be able to get on the ballot.  They said that was helping the “enemy” of the GOP.  In a way, yes, it would have allowed more competition to run against the GOP candidate in that race. Words, I heard, were around that it was tantamount to endorsing that candidate which runs counter to the NH GOP By-Laws.  Which when carefully examined, did not reach the level of that particular by-law – but he was roundly excoriated by NH GOPpers and finally was forced out (and IMHO, on other trumped up make-ups).

And one of those people leading that charge later became the NH GOP Chair – Jennifer Horn.  And now she is front and center in yet another similar controversy with Steve Duprey.

First it was “A New Ice Age” back in the 70’s.  Then it became “Global Warming”, then “Climate Change” (i.e., “we’ll hedge our bet both ways”).  Now I’m starting to hear / see “Climate Disruption”.  Methinks that will be a really bad move.  Why?

Warming – slow, gradual process.  Change – more variable, ups and downs and more extreme than the connotation of “Warming”.  But Disruption?  Now THERE’S a word for you!
