What if Christian Bakers Operated Out of Trucks Driven By Muslims?

Mark Steyn reminds us that, “Christian bakers have to bake gay wedding cakes, but Muslim truckers don’t have to transport alcohol,” which got me thinking. If Christian bakers operate out of the backs of trucks driven by Muslims would they then be excluded from having to bake cakes for gays on religious grounds? What if … Read more

Sen. Ayotte Miscalculates in Supporting Obama EPA’s Clean Power Plan

By Steve Mac Donald | Watchdog Arena New Hampshire’s U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte announced her support for the Environmental Protection Agency’s new Clean Power Plan earlier this week, presumably to help her reelection campaign. But in the process, she may have already lost the election. Keep Reading at Watchdog.org

Guinta Votes to Reauthorize Export Import Bank

New Hampshire Congressman Frank Guinta voted yesterday in favor of reauthorizing the Export Import Bank. Bad Frank. Bad. I’m not saying I expected my ‘Republican’ congressman to oppose the refunding of a crony machine like Ex-Im. That would be crazy. What I will say is that, much like Sen. Ayotte’s embrace of Obama’s Clean Power Plan the … Read more

A Scourge Against Our Republic

We are getting way too complacent these days. As a nation, we are so used to politicians going back on their promises, we now vote to elect “the lesser of two evils”. But, let us not fool ourselves. The lesser of two evils is still EVIL.

The scourge of our Republic is what is known as Campaign Conservatives. Campaign Conservatives are politicians who tell us they will stand and support small government policies, then once elected, go out and vote to support bloated, big government legislation.

Campaign Conservatives tell us they will stand to defund taxpayer- supported Planned Parenthood, then abdicate that stance under political pressure from the Left.

Campaign Conservatives will spout verse and chapter on being against amnesty, then quickly jump that “bi-partisan fence”, and support legislation which rewards illegal behavior.

The Muslim invasion of Europe continues apace – Cloward-Piven

Cloward-Piven, you say?  Yes, only not at a city level, not even a country level, but at a Continental one.  Cloward-Piven, you ask?  Summary:

Cloward & Piven were two NYU sociologists and Socialists that predicated that by overloading the welfare system and drive New York City so far into debt, it could not recover and Capitalism would have to be replaced by another form of governance (gee, guess which!).  They almost succeeded.

BTW, go read what Alinsky said in that post and measure it against what is going on today here in the US – but I digress.  Yes, Cloward-Piven – overloading the system of multiple countries – and overloading their cultural norms: the jizya.  Too many posts to keep up on but the question to keep in mind is “Why now?  Why so many – now?  And WHY are these Western countries allowing this to happen to themselves (although a few are starting to go “oh CRAP!”)?  So, once again, a quick tour around some posts over the last few days:

A Feminist and a Political Contradiction: Hillary

Right after that piece on Suzanne Venker, they played a snippet of Hillary’s Benghazi Congressional hearing and one thing really caught my attention:

I made it abundantly clear that we had to do everything we could to protect our people.  What I did not and do not believe that any Secretary should do is was to substitute my judgment from thousands of miles away for the judgment of the security professionals who made the decisions about what kinds of security would be, ah, provided.

Yeah.  The obvious reaction is that she disavowed any responsibility for security for her people – a true leader sticks UP for her people and not throw them under the bus.  But, after all, she’s a Clinton – any wave of the hand works.  But in her words, she also through the main mantra of Progressivism under the bus in an effort to save herself:

Robert Heinlein on Patriotism

Well, of COURSE I’d post this up – we took part of our name (“Grok”) from his Stranger in a Strange Land opus:

As one drives through the bushveldt of East Africa it is easy to spot herds of baboons grazing on the ground. But not by looking at the ground. Instead you look up and spot the lookout, an adult male posted on a limb of a tree where he has a clear view all around him – which is why you can spot him; he has to be where he can see a leopard in time to give the alarm. On the ground a leopard can catch a baboon… but if a baboon is warned in time to reach the trees, he can out-climb a leopard. The lookout is a young male assigned to that duty and there he will stay, until the bull of the herd sends up another male to relieve him. Keep your eye on that baboon; we’ll be back to him.

Today, in the United States, it is popular among self-styled ‘intellectuals’ to sneer at patriotism. They seem to think…

Kelly Ayotte comes out for the Obamacare of energy policy? Her standard for “bipartisanship”?

Washington-Aquarium-KellyOr protecting her political posterior? And flushing her campaign chest while flushing the whole idea of limited government?  After all, if Obamacare was the biggest Govt grab in the healthcare market, the out of control EPA’s Clean Power Act (“don’t breath – you’ll exhale CO2”) is worse – under the guise of Global Warming and CO2 control, the EPA is really out to take control of the energy sector just as they are transforming the relationship of patients & doctors to be under the thumb of bureaucrats thousands of miles away.

This is the vision of American that Kelly Ayotte is embracing – an all powerful Executive Branch?  She already caved on Congress’ Congressional power of the Purse (“We CAN’T shut down the Feds – I’ll have a fainting spell!”) and now she is all willing, under the guise of “working across the aisle”.

Well listen, Kelly, throwing away your Constitutional responsibility is not “bipartisanship” nor “reaching across the aisle” – this is an abdication of your responsibility to MAKE LAW – NOT what we sent you to DC to do.  Instead, with your support, you have nodded your support to the Progressive end state – rule by the Administrative State.  Congrats – you have edged that next incremental step to making Congress that much more irrelevant.  This is not, as you are wont to say “Common Sense” – this is just you trying to copy Scott Brown.  How’d that work out for him, eh?

…just remember this line of his (and I am gobsmacked that he would actually say to a national reporter) (emphasis mine) The dirty little secret in Republican politics these days is that the longtime pillars of the party — politicians and ex-politicians, major donors and the consultant class — are further removed from the views … Read more

Democrats Aren’t too Bright when it comes to History

Or is it the intentional false narrative to make women believe that they are not paid equally? Democrats seem to like telling women they are of lesser value than men. What does that say about THEM? Feel free to look at the ‘Equal Pay Act‘ for your very own self. Give a Democrat a history lesson. … Read more

“12 Times the GOP Establishment Kicked the Conservative Base in the Teeth”

Establishment attacked Ted CruzIt isn’t just the Obama IRS that has been shafting conservatives when seeking non-profit status (and then the Obama DOJ now clearing Lois Lerner of any wrong doing – blaming it on incompetent management), or the Obama Labor department going after large Republican donor / entrepreneurs for “labor violations” or the FEC now targeting conservative advocacy groups to force them to name their donors, and now seemingly seeking retribution against Hobby Lobby who embarrassed the Obama Admin at the Supreme Court on the soul crushing abortifacient HHS mandate of Obamacare.

No, not just the present Administration – it’s also Establishment Republicans who have also decided that conservatives should not be allowed to break up their love fest with power.  I ran across this short list – a good way to keep reminding ourselves that while Republicans like Kelly Ayotte are all over “bipartisanship across the aisle” (re: working with Jeanne Shaheen among others), they hardly consider their fellow Republicans as part of the club (like Kelly Ayotte screaming at/about Ted Cruz standing up for principles).  A friendly reminder as the primary approaches:
