Michelle Obama is having a sad because we decided her school lunch program were bad

Compare this:

with this as the Trump Administration is relaxing the overbearing rules set by Michelle’s “you will eat what I tell you to eat” school lunch program:

“We gotta make sure we don’t let anybody take us back, because the question is, where are we going back to? This is where you really have to look at motives. You really have to stop and think. Why don’t you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you?  “Think about why someone is okay with your kids eating crap? Why would you celebrate that? If somebody is doing that, they don’t care about your kid.”

“Because here’s the secret: If somebody is doing that, they don’t care about your kid, and we need to demand everyone to care deeply about our kids,”

-Michelle Obama

Yeah, more of the “All Republicans want you all to DIE!” talk.  For Progressives, this is their outlook – they can do no wrong.  They believe it and swear by it.  And we all know why – they refuse to revisit their programs and objectively review whether their programs actually hit their mark (well, they can ALWAYS hit the mark because they hardly ever have hard and fast measurements to determine that.  Look at Obamacare and look at the ruin it has brought to American healthcare for anyone that isn’t immensely rich or isn’t receiving huge subsidies to pay for their premiums (it’s always nice to get a free ride).  Once enacted, they should NEVER be inspected or analyzed.  Just look at the vitriol over removing Government control of said healthcare.

Same by Michelle over her pet project”; this was noted by Big Government:

Nowhere in the discussion did Obama note that it is the role of parents to guide their children’s eating habits, not that of the government.

Data Point: a Rape Culture on Campuses?

89% of colleges reported zero campus rapes in 2015. If it really is the “1 in 5” statistic quoted by overwrought power hungry feminists (who keep redefining out common language to get the results they want), how could that data point be true?  Frankly, if the “1 in 5” was really true, every father in … Read more

What seems to be normal – The Left showing both incoherence and hatred. Over a simple sign??

Scream….Scream….Scream….Scream some more.  That is the Left’s response to a double sided sign with:

  • Trump
  • Bible verses

And they wonder why we laugh at them?

https://www.facebook.com/eric.bostrom.37/videos/1237999372994000/

On a more serious note, how do we talk with the Left with this as an example?  We don’t.  WE CAN’T.  After 10 years of watching the Left, two things are clear:

What Kind of Sexism Is this? Parents Stop Naming their Kids Caitlyn

Caitlyn JennerThere are so many sorts of sexism these days it can be difficult to keep up.

Much like the legislative sprawl that leads to your being guilty of breaking some law you never knew about, meaning you are always guilty of something, being a sexist pig is as easy as saying that there are so many sorts of sexism that it can be difficult to keep up.

But what kind of sexism is this?

Bruce Jenner, who liked dressing up as a woman in private decided (perhaps encouraged is a better word) to do so in public. He then chose the name Caitlyn for the Bruce who dresses like a stereotypical (which should also be sexist) woman in public. And now the name Caitlyn has tumbled out of favor.

Blogline of the Day: It shouldn’t take the Wall Street Journal to enlighten the DC GOP about this

WSJ EDITORIAL BOARD: The fastest way to lose Congress is by not repealing ObamaCare.

pants around ankles

The GOP has been promising this for 7 years.  The base put them in place for ONE and only ONE reason.  Complete repeal. Govt out of my decision making with my doctor.  No more mandates.  No more taxes. Heck, no more LOSING my doc or my plan.

But leave it to the Stupid Party to figure out how to stumble this to UTTER train wreck. They will bow to the media and Democrat onslaught, thinking that their narrative will be believed by “the electorate” and they will lose their seats.

They will lose their seats – but not for the reason they think.

The New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup

Sea Level Rise FraudThe New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup is a coalition of trough-feeding universities, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, and other interested environmental parties that have collected a reported $5 million in grants, a chunk of them from their biggest government sponsor, NOAA. They claim a long list of priorities which seem reasonably sane on the surface until you grasp the underlying motivation.

Gee, I remember in the mid-70s that OPEC wanted us on our knees, oil-wise

oilHeh!  Reformatted, emphasis mine:

OPEC to U.S.: Please don’t pump so much oil!

OPEC has asked a favor of other major producers: Please stop pumping so much and help us balance the market. The unusual plea was issued Thursday in the cartel’s closely-watched monthly report, which found that global markets are still suffering from too much supply.
The report said that balancing the market would “require the collective efforts of all oil producers” and should be done “not only for the benefit of the individual countries, but also for the general prosperity of the world economy.”

Those “other major producers” would include US frackers.  My, my, how times have changed – it’s our fault:

OPEC said that one producer in particular is to blame: The U.S., where shale producers have continued to ramp up their drilling despite lower crude prices. The increased production has undermined OPEC’s efforts to keep prices between $50 and $60 per barrel.

I love it – the translation is that the cartel is pleading

Minimum wage: thanks to economic illiterate Progressive politicians, others are paying the price

Minimum wage hikeMinimum wage is a bugaboo of mine – I think that government should simply stay out of the wage marketplace, especially that of not allowing for private contract between producers (those providing the labor, skills, and motivation) and consumers (companies willing to pay for that labor).  We are now seeing a real life economic lab experiment in Seattle, Sea-Tac, San Francisco, and now NYC where finanical idiots have put a socialist ideology ahead of sound financial knowledge.  Thank a Progressive and their micromanagement of OTHERS property and procedures – they are costing people their livelihoods and businesses:

NYC Minimum Wage Law Forcing Higher Prices and Restaurant Closures

An increase in the New York City minimum wage is forcing some restauranteurs to either close up shop or raise their prices. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, New York City restaurants are suffering as a result of a two dollar increase in the minimum wage that took place at the end of 2016.

“It’s going up too fast,” said Jeremy Merrin, the owner of a chain of Cuban restaurants. Merrin said minimum wage increases forced him to close two of his New York City locations and raise prices at his others. “We can’t catch our breath,” he added. Angelica Kitchen, long a staple of the East Village, closed their doors after 40 years of operation in response to the increased cost of labor mandated by the new wage policy. “I felt like I was being regulated in a way that took certain choices away from me that I felt belonged to me, rightfully, as a business owner,” owner Leslie McEachern said.  “I’m not trying to undercut or underpay anybody, but I also don’t know what’s coming down the pike.”

Those are just two anecdotes – and the Progressives are fine with doubling down:

Heartless? Sorry, “heartless” was what this govt union hack said.

UL (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Manchester lays off 14 teachers; union boss calls response to less enrollment ‘heartless’

Less than 24 hours after city school board members voted to authorize layoffs, 14 educators at schools across the district received word they won’t have jobs in the Queen City come next fall. Sue Hannan, president of the Manchester Education Association, described the district’s decision to hand out reduction in force notices — which happened to be National Teacher Appreciation Day — as “heartless.”

What – does she think that government is supposed to be just an employment agency?  That teachers are “entitled” to have their jobs?  In the private sector, when demand goes down, the company pares down.  Or goes out of business.  Public sector?

Blogline of the Day – foregone opportunity ahead for the GOP?

DayOfReckoningRemorse after The Day of Reckoning (Nov 8, 2018)?

Unless things change, the GOP is going to look back on 2017-2019 as a wasted opportunity, which is exactly opposite of how Democrats remember 2009-2011.

Sure, there have been a bunch of GOP sponsored bills passed on eliminating

The (Anti-Trump) Resistance Loses in Omaha

The so-called resistance rallied to defeat a Republican Mayor in Omaha, Nebraska. In what may have been a mild upset victory, Omaha’s Republican Mayor Jean Stothert defeated Bernie Sanders–backed Democrat, Heath Mello. The margin was 53-46. Dave Begley, our man in Omaha (and Council Bluffs), wrote about the Omaha mayor’s race here. He called it … Read more

Data Point – Gun Gap

“But there was a time when gun owners weren’t so overwhelmingly Republican. In 1976, 50 percent of Republicans, 48 percent of independents, and 45 percent of Democrats owned a gun. That changed in the 1980s and 1990s. By 2000, 30 percent of independents and only 27 percent of Democrats reported having a gun in the home. … Read more
