Many readers already know, but if you’re late for dinner, I’ll tell you now. HB361 was on the Senate Consent Calendar and should have been a smooth sail through the body yesterday, but Regina the Masker had to put a monkey wrench into the process. This is NOT the first time she has killed or sabotaged a COVID-19 response-related bill that’s needed. She has also sponsored and supported several bad vax bills. Please get in touch with subject matter expert Laura Condon, the Vax Injury Caucus folks, or Melissa Blasek and the Rebuild group if you want a comprehensive list of bills.
I will take a moment to praise Victoria Sullivan for her service to all of NH and acknowledge that I disagree with her occasionally. She is accessible to all of us non-constituents and usually replies in a timely fashion. Furthermore, she is proactive in making tweets and videos, similar to what Judy Aron often does with articles after the House meets. However, Republican senators have a thing for circling the wagons around an embattled peer. Look no further than Jeb making all the Rs endorse Senator Gannon when Emily Phillips primaried him and sparing no expense in attacking her.
I will also praise Victoria for her prompt summary of possible reasons for bills being removed from consent when I politely replied to her previous comment. That previous comment also contained a question written in a senatorial dialect called Kevinspeak. She asked, “How about beating up the Dems for a change?” Sure, it’s a polite question, but my answer is that the Dems suck and I do beat up on them, every day, all the time, in my thoughts and at the keyboard. There will be no restraint of tongue and pen when it comes to that, but I want readers to be able to recognize Kevinspeak when they hear it or read it, especially if it’s in response to criticizing Queen Sharon or Regina, because they’re in higher leadership. You might even encounter it if your senator defends Denise or happens to be Denise, the HB 649 saboteur.
When Kevin was my senator, I would complain about other senators. A few examples would be Jeb being a RINO, Sharon voting against Right to Work, Denise voting the wrong way on welfare school lunch crap, and Regina wearing a mask in the senate chamber on 1/26/23. Each time I complained, he would stick up for that senator and then ask me to concentrate on attacking the Dems. What I find problematic is that the enemy from within is ignored or underestimated. It’s infiltration of evil onto our own soil, and I would compare it to employee theft or a teammate rigging a match, but that’s just my own opinion.
I completely support Melissa’s criticism of Regina, even though I have no skin in the game as a student, teacher, parent, or school staff member. I just despise Mask Madness, and my investment in the younger generations is activism to keep them mask-free or mask-optional. Hey, someday I will be old and possibly find myself at the mercy of other people’s kids in more ways than one.
I will bring up a sound byte from my 3/30/22 mic time at the Senate HHS hearing for HB 1131, where I reminded leadership that they don’t work for lobbyists, big donors or the governor. With that being said, please remind Regina that she works for you and me.
