I have contacted the Ad Company About “those” Ads …

Some of you may have noticed some ads that are not typically what we’d expect here, especially on the mobile version. I was under the impression we would not see anything like that. We have Trump ads galore and more than a few very acceptable bits and neutral stuff. Then I see ads with the words Raunchy Girls.

Just so we are on the same page, I dropped the edge ads that slid in and blocked your view because no one likes those much. I didn’t like them, but the revenue was decent, and we need that. The economy sucks, so donations are down, and I have to run ads to raise money to offset maintenance and operating costs which are also up.

Now I’ve got ads about raunchy girls and such. Not impressed. I have asked them to remove those and have been told they are on it. I have asked if they can run fewer ads per post because there are too many. They said they were on it. We are waiting for these changes.

While I have your attention, assuming I do, we are working on a host of other things that haven’t been done since moving day. It’s mostly backend stuff, but we had a suggestion to add dates or date flags to the category pages so folks could more easily see where they left off. That’s on the list. The newsletter is dead for the time being, but we plan on rebooting it once we have other issues resolved. The Lakes Region MicroGrok page is there but does not appear in the dropdown under New Hampshire (you can see it in the menu ring on the New Hampshire page and the other MicroGrok pages). The comment system change is in the wind for the moment, and I’m contemplating bringing back the Hot on the Grok feature. Time and resources permitting.

As for the move, overall, most of the comments about the new look and feel are positive—some are very positive—and a few don’t like it. I welcome the input, good or bad. It is all a work in progress, and we welcome your comments.
