After Trump One-Night-Stand CNN Ratings Take Walk of Shame

Call them what you will. The Clinton News Network, Coronavirus News Network, Collusion News Network, DNCNN, and the Climate News Network. The original 24/7 cable news network has been struggling without Donald Trump. so they made a media booty call.

Hey baby. Remember us? I know we’ve got a toxic relationship and will regret it in the morning, but how about a date?

Trump says they made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, as if having a chance to rhetorically bat a CNN talking head around like a catnip mouse on a string wasn’t incentive enough. A lot of folks didn’t like the idea. The Left called CNN traitorous. The right asked why Trump would be seen in public with that … network.

They met at St Anselm’s in New Hampshire, just up the road a piece from where I sit, and chatted it up. CNN eventually “stormed out.”

According to Breitbart, “Trump’s confident, combative display yielded ratings about five times higher than the network’s typical viewership in the 8 p.m. slot among the 25-54 age demographic.

But the morning after, the network went into another ratings free fall.

Each of CNN’s prime time hours trailed the competition on Newsmax Friday, with Anderson Cooper 360 delivering a total audience of 447,000 viewers at 8 p.m. ET, taking fourth place behind Fox News Channel’s Fox News Tonight (1.302 million viewers), MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes (1.076 million viewers), and Newsmax’s Eric Bolling (467,000 viewers). At 9 p.m. ET, FNC’s Hannity was first with 1.606 million viewers, followed by MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight (1.207 million viewers), Newsmax’s Chris Plante (325,000 viewers) and CNN’s The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper (293,000 viewers).

Trump is the key to ratings gold at CNN, which has to make The Donald smile. He’s been winning the war with fake news CNN for years, and the only good day they have is when he shows up for what they assumed was a trap for Trump. But Trump sprung a trap on CNN.

They got their ratings “quickie” from the guy they’ve been trying to destroy for years—but it was an embarrassing one-night stand. But Trump made them look ridiculous and got a boost in his polling numbers.

CNN is left walking home without cab fare, high-heeled shoes in one hand, and their twisted panties in the other.
