The Skip & Tom Weight Challenge – Week 7

OK, a month and a half in. My expected loss, due to illness last week, showed up. However, now I’ve been stuck at that weight for a few days now no matter what I eat – or don’t. I’m feeling better to the point of feeling normal (TMEW and the Grandson are still suffering the lingering effects, though) but getting “stuck” is a bit worrisome. Seems like my body has done the “reset” I knew would happen – just a few pounds too soon!  And all I can think of is going out for a nice Chinese dinner (sheesh!  Stop already!).

Tom is continuing on and broke a milestone weight for him – congrats! I’m hoping that it will put a hop in his step and the determination to “beat Skip!”.

Reminder that while we both have differing weight loss goals, we’re competing on percentage loss in trying to “normalize” things – it was clear that I could never lose as much as Tom just on pounds but we both knew that it’s going to be harder for me to lose that lesser weight as my “easy” weight started a couple of years ago.

As least my wallet is safe for a little while longer. I had promised myself a brand new wardrobe once I broke 185 and which I have now done. I’ve noticed that the double chin I once had has disappeared and my belts are no longer holding up my pants – I need all new belts as I’m on the last hole on all of them and they are still “wiggly”. That said, I’m going to put off that spending spree until this contest is over which will probably take a few more weeks.
