Amusing, but given today’s political atmosphere and totalitarian ways by those using “The Environment” and “Safety” and “We’re only here to do the best for you!” lies, there is certainly a serious message here:
Do you see it? CAN you see it?
Yes, the above is a Dodge Challenger when they brought it back. It’s going away because of “Green!”. This week, too, we got the news that GM has pulled the plug on the last Camaro – no more at the end of this year. While it IS going out with a bang (a firebreathing 1,024 horsepower, 1.6 seconds to 60 miles an hour at hundreds of thousands of dollars less than supercars), our unelected, unassailable, and unaccountable bureaucrats (I think I’d be correct in saying they’re all down with restricting our freedom by whatever means possible) have regulated it out of existence.
I’m said to see it go – my second car, when in high school, was a ’67 Camaro. Red with black stripping and black interior. Four speed. I still miss it.
The invention of the car was one of the greatest tools for individual Freedom as it allowed the ordinary person to travel to anywhere at any time for any reason in a reasonable time. No longer were people constrained by time (walking, riding a horse) and by distance. No waiting to travel according to someone else’s schedule (trains, subways and other public transportation).
IMHO, the forced reduction of the use of fossil fuels is a method to constrain travel by the common man. Doubt me?
If every gas vehicle was immediately replaced by a shiny new Electric one in your driveway, do you think our grid could take the load? Who then gets to charge their cars?
Hint: it won’t be we, the common folks. The rich and powerful, however, will have little problem.
We losing our cars. They are taking our Freedom(s).
