But at least one teacher, Amber Mercier who works at The Academy, says she’ll keep lying to parents about their kids, and she’s willing to lose her job over it. Mercier is gay, and she believes keeping secrets about sexuality from her students’ families — if the student wants her to — is worth losing her job over. “I just want to go ahead and state that I would rather lose my job than out one of my students to their families. Being a safe person and a safe place for kids who don’t have that at home is one of the best parts of being a teacher, so, yeah, I’m not doing it. Fire me, sue me, take me to jail — I’m not doing it.”

Media Coordinator Mike Riley responded, “Our Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of HR, and the Principal at the Academy have begun an investigation as to what happened today concerning the post by the teacher. We always are and always will be in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures put in place by the Governor, the Legislature, the Commissioner of Education, and the State School Board [and] that will never change.” He added, “This investigation will be a priority on tomorrow’s list of things do.”
Isn’t a Big Flashlight such a lovely thing? You’d think, however, that a teacher, supposedly a role model for their students, immediately discards the Law because PRIDE (all over her T-shirt). These people need to be removed from the classroom and pronto.

‘Underhanded’: School Invites Students to Observe LGBTQ Day Without Parents’ Knowledge
Whether you know it or not, your child’s school may have observed a “Day of Silence” on behalf of the LGBTQ movement. The advocacy group GLSEN invited schools across the country to hold a demonstration Friday to show support for LGBTQ students and their allies. GLSEN encouraged participants to “take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools,” according to the group’s website. The Day of Silence would end, the group said, with participants holding “Breaking the Silence” rallies and events “to share their experiences during the protest and bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive.”
Yeah, more inclusive – until you’re a football coach that silently prays at the 50 yardline after a game (recently hears at the US Supreme Court and is likely to win his suit against the School District). With Wokeness, inclusivity only goes one way.
One parent, whose son attends a private high school in Connecticut that has no religious affiliation, told The Daily Signal that her “suspicion” is that “a lot of schools, especially private schools, were participating in this.” The mother, who asked to remain anonymous, said her son received an email from school administrators inviting students to wear rainbow colors last Friday and participate in a “Day of Action” to “support our LGBTQ+ community.” The private school in Connecticut sent the email to students and faculty, but not to parents, the mother told The Daily Signal. The email to students referenced “over 220 laws” that the school said targeted LGBTQ Americans this year, and included a link to a slideshow discussing some of the laws and the significance of the Day of Silence.
Jay Richards, the William E. Simon senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, says he believes that the only thing blocking the agenda of radical gender identity activists is “wide-awake parents.” “Gender ideology is about dissolving the biological reality of male and female and replacing it with an entirely subjective notion of ‘gender identity’—which has no clear meaning or limiting principle,” Richards said in an email to The Daily Signal, the multimedia news organization of The Heritage Foundation. “This isn’t just an abstract philosophical idea,” he said. “Gender ideology threatens the minds and bodies of students.”
Emailing students an invitation to participate in a pro-LGBTQ rally, and sending them a slideshow with a political message without parents’ knowledge “seems underhanded to me,” the mother said, “especially if they’re going to ask kids to basically participate in … political engagement.”
Once again we see the Edu-Industrial Complex trying to cancel the importance and influence of Parents for their own. After all, they know better than parents, right (/sarc)? And make no mistake about it, it isn’t just the schools but the States as well. And of course, we know which State is the Wokest of them all, right?
California to penalize community college instructors for lack of woke ideology
Can a state punish instructors for not having a woke ideology? It looks like California will do so, effectively evaluating community college instructors based on whether they have a belief in concepts such as “the intersectionality of social identities and the multiple axes of oppression that people from different racial, ethnic, and other minoritized groups face,” “structures of oppression and marginalization,” “anti-racism knowledge,” and a belief in one’s own “internal biases.”
They will – but should they and CAN they? Effectively requiring such a “disposition” is worldview discrimination which has been legally adjudicated as being illegal:
…People cannot be required to adhere to a particular ideology or philosophy to teach or study in our schools. As the Supreme Court once noted, “no official, high or petty, can prescribe what shall be orthodox in politics, nationalism, religion, or other matters of opinion or force citizens to confess by word or act their faith therein.” (West Virginia Board of Education v. Barnette (1943)). Thus, the Supreme Court struck down a state’s requirement that a student salute the flag. Similarly, the Supreme Court has struck down state laws requiring commitments to particular ideas or convictions, in the form of loyalty oaths for teachers and other state employees. (See, e.g., Baggett v. Bullitt (1964)). In Cole v. Richardson (1972), the Supreme Court set out conditions that an oath for government employees must meet to survive constitutional muster — such as that a government job cannot be conditioned on a commitment by the employee to not engage in protected speech activities or activity protected by the First Amendment. So professing a disbelief in “intersectionality,” “multiple axes of oppression,” “structures of oppression and marginalization,” or one’s own “internal biases” should not keep you from keeping your job.

Yet, the National Association of Scholars notes, the California community college system plans to effectively require adherence to ideological concepts as part of required “DEI competencies”:
On March 11 of this year, the Chancellor’s Office announced a policy proposal … formally establishing “DEI competencies” as a condition for promotion, tenure, evaluations. The policy itself is thorough and unequivocal, and other documents released by the Chancellor’s Office—including a list of sample DEI competencies—show exactly how such requirements would play out. If it passes, the largest system of higher education in the country will require its faculty to demonstrate their commitment to today’s narrow orthodoxy.

And I remember when teachers, both male and female, actually lived up to “professional attire” that included suit and tie, dresses & blouses (sometimes each wearing sweaters) instead of descending to that of the kids in their classes. Now, it seems to be a race to the bottom as to which age can dress the stupidest. At least with this crowd, you’d be able to figure out the Woke teachers from the Normal ones (mostly).
But things ARE starting (albeit, slowly) to change back to sanity as that policy did backfire – to the tune of 6 digits to the left of the decimal point:
A Professor Was Punished For Refusing To Use Preferred Pronouns. He Sued And Just Settled For $400K.
A Shawnee State University professor who refused to use the preferred pronouns of a male student who identifies as female has settled with his employer for $400,000 and an agreement that he will never be forced to use pronouns. Shawnee philosophy professor Nicholas Meriwether refused to address a male student who identifies as female by the student’s preferred pronouns, instead referring to the student as “sir,” saying that his evangelical Christian beliefs were behind his actions.
It is the Left that is denigrating any belief system that runs counter to theirs and the accompanying Narrative. They actively hate Christianity because we believe in a Higher Power that isn’t them. It is also MY argument in my lawsuit against the Gilford School Board – you SHOULD not and CANNOT force me to use language that is contrary to both my beliefs and my training as a biologist (hey, newly minted SCOTUS Justice Kantanji Brown raised that she couldn’t tell anyone what a woman was because she wasn’t a biologist, so Imma gonna use it!).
“To accede to these demands would have required Dr. Meriwether to communicate views regarding gender identity that he does not hold, that he does not wish to communicate, and that would contradict (and force him to violate) his sincerely held Christian beliefs,” Meriwether wrote in his lawsuit against the school after he was disciplined over the incident. The lawsuit also notes that Meriwether addresses students as “sir” or “Miss” to show respect,” The Daily Wire previously reported.
America was started on the right of conscious and religious belief of one’s own choosing. Yet, by promulgating such demands by the State, is the State now establishing its own Religion contra the First Amendment? I would say so. So did the Court:
…Meriwether and SSU have now settled the matter. Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented Meriwether, released a statement saying that the university “agreed to pay $400,000 in damages and Meriwether’s attorneys’ fees. Additionally, considering the 6th Circuit’s ruling, the university is rescinding the written warning it issued Meriwether in June 2018.” Further, “the university has agreed that Meriwether has the right to choose when to use, or avoid using, titles or pronouns when referring to or addressing students. Significantly, the university agreed Meriwether will never be mandated to use pronouns, including if a student requests pronouns that conflict with his or her biological sex,” ADF noted.
“This case forced us to defend what used to be a common belief—that nobody should be forced to contradict their core beliefs just to keep their job,” ADF Senior Counsel Travis Barham said in the press release.

Weingarten: Parental rights bills are “the way in which wars start”
Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, accused concerned parents of being warmongers during a radio interview with The Rick Smith Show. That’s an odd way of describing parents who object to classroom programs on sexuality and gender fluidity for children as young as five years old.
She hates Parents – that’s clear. That is, unless you go along with with their Agenda. Remember, those of us who don’t are Domestic Terrorists – that would include your’s truly because MY kid is MINE – not yours!
“This notion – we’ve been very lucky in America, and we in some ways live in a bubble for a long time,” Weingarten said. “This is propaganda. This is misinformation. This is the way in which wars start. This is the way in which hatred starts.”
And note the use of “misinformation” and how the author describes it:
The arrogance exhibited by Weingarten is nothing new. Her oversized ego and hyperbolic speech against those she determines to be her enemies are well known. What interviews like this show us is that teacher unions are finally receiving the scrutiny they so richly deserve over their support of politicizing school children. While Weingarten easily tosses out words like ‘war’ and ‘hate’ as she speaks about lawmakers who respond to parental outrage over highly inappropriate lessons in early elementary education – children who are the ages of 5-7 – she sounds desperate and completely clueless. She tries to marginalize parents as “vocal minorities”. She should tell that to all the Democrats who lost elections in Virginia recently.
You’ll notice that Weingarten uses the buzzword “misinformation”. It is the preferred word to use by people who don’t want to deal with those who disagree with them. It’s particularly ironic in this case because the person spouting deliberate lies is Weingarten.
