Biden’s State of the Union Bounce ….1%

There wasn’t a lot of chatter about the traditional post State of the Union Bounce. It’s that mythical enhancement of a politician’s public perception after sharing their opinion about the state of our nation. Biden’s wasn’t big news and now we know why.

He had more bounce falling on the stairs to Air Force One than he got from the State of the Union.

An IBD/TIPP poll conducted after the speech on March 1 found that, overall, 39 percent of respondents approve of the job he is doing as president, compared to 47 percent who disapprove.

This is a slight improvement from the 38 percent approval in February’s IBD/TIPP poll–the lowest figure since Biden took office.

Those numbers have not improved since then either, though they’ve not gotten worse. March 7th polling from IBD/TIPP shows no change.

It wasn’t a total wash. Ten Dollar a Gallon Joe did do better with Democrats after the SOTU but do they really matter because independents were not moved at all.

His approval from independents remains stuck at a woeful 27%. Though his disapproval from independents fell from 55% to 53%, if Brandon wants to hang his hat on that. (Note that the more you slice up a sample, the less likely these numbers are to be meaningful or accurate.)

Is this why he relented and added oil to his so-called Russian sanctions?

And no to hurt Russia. He wants to blame rising gas prices on Putin (The Putin Price Hike), but here’s what that looks like if at all.

So, I can see why he might not want Ukraine to accept Putin’s peace offering. He’d prefer the war went on until after the 2022 Midterms, or at least his party probably does. Nor, I suspect, do they want home doing any more long public speeches, though I’ll admit, we are seeing him a lot more than I ever imagined we would.

And that’s bad for America.

The more they see him and hear him the more convinced they’ll be to do whatever they can to stop his advancing the Democrat party agenda.
