File this under things just got worse. The German city of Ostfildern, in accordance with the Corona Ordinance of the State of Baden-Württemberg, has authorized direct coercion against anyone walking (in protest) against COVID or vaccine policy.
Direct coercion is the authorized use of physical force with or without weapons.
In order to ensure that the ban on assembly in Germany is observed, the use of direct coercion, i.e. physical violence or the use of weapons, have been ordered. After weighing up the conflicting interests, this is “proportionate and necessary” because there are no other means that would discourage potential anti-vaccine participants from walking, the decree states.
The general decree from Ostfildern has rightly alarmed Twitter users with hundreds expressing their shock at the decree. Tens of thousands of people have been taking to the streets on Mondays across Germany for weeks, protesting during “walks” against the Covid measures taken by the federal and state governments.
The notification, which was shared by Oberbürgermeister Christof Bolay on Twitter is translated below.
Es geht nicht anders: ab 28.01. sind nicht angemeldete „Spaziergänge“, die sich gegen die geltenden Corona-Regeln wenden, in #Ostfildern verboten – egal an welchem Wochentag.

Translation:
There is no other way: from 28.01., unregistered “walks” that are against the applicable Corona rules are prohibited in #Ostfildern – no matter on which day of the week. General ruling:
Effective Jan 28 “walks” or protests against the Rona rules are prohibited.
These “walks” used to take place on Monday, according to the reporting, but in the interest of prohibiting all resistance, these peaceful “expressions” of opposition politics and policy are banned in Ostfildern unless you get permission. No walking about the city opposing covid tyranny or else.
The General decree referenced in the Tweet says “protesters” could be met with force.
general decree:
- Participation in all open-air public gatherings in the district of Ostfildern, which are related to general calls for “evening walks,” “Monday walks” or “walks,” are not indicated and are directed against the provisions of the Corona Ordinance, is prohibited every day of the week.
- In the event of non-compliance with the prohibition under number 1, the application is threatened with direct coercion.
- The immediate execution of paragraph 1 of this general decree is ordered in the special public interest according to § 80 paragraph 2 sentence 1 number 4 of the Administrative Court Code.
- According to § 41 paragraph 4 of the State Administrative Procedure Act, this general decree is deemed to have been announced on the day after the public announcement.
- The general decree will expire at the end of February 28, 2022, unless it is revoked beforehand.
Direct coercion is the use of physical force with or without weapons so, you could, in theory, get shot for not wanting to get the shot.
Why not just set up camps for these protesters. I hear that was once very popular in Germany.
