Someone decided they had a right to take someone else’s property. They even had an illegal gun to make it happen—one small problem.
[Y]et another lawbreaker — who likely figured it would be easy pickings to scare a motorist into handing over car keys — just got the tables turned on him.
Police said a 39-year-old pizza delivery driver was in the 3300 block of H Street in the Kensington neighborhood just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday when an armed carjacker approached him, WXTF-TV reported. Then the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the delivery driver and demanded his car, police told the station. But the driver wasn’t about to become a victim — and had a different kind of delivery up his sleeve.
Because at that moment the driver pulled out his own gun and fired multiple rounds at the suspected carjacker, authorities told WXTF. According to WPVI-TV, the driver hit the suspect six times…The 23-year-old suspect was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle and placed in extremely critical condition, WPVI said. Police added to WXTF that he was being held as a prisoner. Two people who were with the suspect also were being held and questioned, WPVI said.
Give that pizza guy a medal! Not for “vigilantism” as the Left would moan and groan (“Heavens! He became Judge, Jury, and Executioner!”). That the carjacker just had a slip up on his way to rehabilitating himself – he fell in with the wrong crowd. Yeah, the ones that were waiting for him to pedal that car away, right?
DGU – Defensive Gun Use. The Left hates this phrase, but it rings true when the danger is seconds away (or, in this case, already in your face), but the cops are minutes away.
And with the Left shifting our Basic Morality decades ago (hating on “Thou shalt not steal…Thou shalt not Murder”), it may have well been a case of “take the car and kill the witness/owner anyway.”
A gun saved that pizza guy’s life. And the carjacker decided to make a stupid decision and now is living (maybe) a stupid consequence.
The anti-gunners always complain that when Constitutional Carry is first enacted in any State, the “streets will run red with blood!!”. And not ONCE has it happened.
The only places where the streets DO run blood red are in Democrat enclaves in large Democrat-run cities from gang violence by committing gun crimes. And look at what happens every weekend in Chicago, the place that is about as far away from legal Constitutional Carry as it gets.
But the anti-gunners never get around to yammering much, and with no results, about the gangs committing the crimes.
