NH Bill Would Prohibit Banks from Using Social Credit Scores

social credit score

Social Credit Scores are institutionalized discrimination. The Left loves them, so  New Hampshire House Bill 1469 tries to get ahead of the downward curve. It would prohibit banks and other financial institutions from engaging in discriminatory practices.

For years the progs have been using money funneled to activist groups to intimidate businesses into engaging in desired practices. The 2008 housing bubble burst directly reflected that in parallel with Democrat policy and pressure campaigns.

They likewise use it to hamper commerce or individuals with political differences. The most recent example is the Pillow Guy. Mike Lindell’s business is under attack from the Left as they go after his retailers and now his financial institutions. The goal is to make it impossible for him to do business.

Destroying thousands of jobs or investment potential and growth in other areas does not concern them. You make sure people see you ruin someone as a lesson to others. The Social Credit score system is this activism 24/7/369. It exists to keep people in line by labeling them based on everyday decisions that satisfy regime mandates.

The better you are at doing what you are told, the better your score, the more potential you have for privileges. Like, not getting disappeared in the night or denied loans, food, help from the government, or a job.

It’s totalitarian.

The social credit system, also known as the Ranking System, is a means to assign a rating value to individuals based on their compliance with social and political expectations. It rates whether or not people are good or bad citizens. It then rewards or punishes individuals based on their behavior.

HB1469 attempts to read the goat entrails and intercede before anyone thinks it would be an excellent way to punish or reward Granite Staters.

1  Declaration of Purpose. The General Court hereby finds and declares that practice of discrimination against any New Hampshire inhabitants (individuals, associations and companies) through use of their social credit or environmental, social justice, and governmental score is a matter of state concern, that discrimination based on such scores not only threatens the rights and proper privileges of New Hampshire inhabitants but menaces the institutions and foundation of a free democratic state and threatens the peace, order, health, safety and general welfare of the state and its inhabitants.

2  New Subparagraph; Bank and Credit Union Regulatory and Enforcement; Prohibited Acts.  Amend RSA 383-A:7-701 by inserting after subparagraph (f) the following new subparagraph:

(g)(1)  All banks and other financial institutions doing business in the state of New Hampshire, either directly or through the use of an outside contractor, shall not discriminate against, nor advocate for or cause adverse treatment of, any citizen or business in their business practices based on subjective or arbitrary standards such as social media posts; participation or membership in any clubs, associations, or unions, etc.; political affiliation; employer; or other social credit, environmental, social, and governance, or similar values-based or impact criteria.  No provision of this law shall interfere with a bank’s or other financial institution’s ability to discontinue or refuse to conduct business with an individual account holder or potential customer when such action is necessary for the physical safety of its employees.

Under the totalitarianism required to operate this sort of thing, what you actually do or don’t is immaterial. The bureaucratic or ruling class can mess with your score at will and for any reason. It can and will improve some scores and lower others based entirely on the will of those with that power.

Being the perfect slave comes with no guarantees, and efforts to prevent the normalization of these schemes in any sector are (IMO) essential to preserving liberty and individual rights.

And yes, they should be unnecessary in America. Still, after the Left’s open embrace of chemical modification verification documents (vaccine passports) for access to public places, every form of tyranny is on the table.

The legislation had its first hearing on Wednesday. If you’d like to submit written testimony to the committee, you can do that by emailing @HouseCommerceCommittee@leg.state.nh.us.

Please reference the Bill number and be brief and polite. Less will get you a lot more in circumstances like this.
