Sen. Kevin Avard Statement on SCOTUS Refusal to Hear New Hampshire – Massachusetts Income Tax Case

by

(Nashua, NH) – NH State Senator Kevin Avard released the following statement regarding today’s news that the Supreme Court of the United States will not hear New Hampshire v. Massachusetts:

“I am very disappointed that the Supreme Court chose not to hear this case. Tens of thousands of New Hampshire residents are now going to find themselves subject to an additional tax burden that they did not expect during a time when many are still struggling financially. The state of Massachusetts simply has no right to pick the pocket of Granite Staters that do not live nor physically work in Massachusetts.

The New Hampshire Legislature worked hard this year to cut taxes for our citizens everywhere that we could and it has led us to the nation’s lowest unemployment rate. Massachusetts would be smart to follow suit and start by keeping their greedy fingers out of our wallets.”
