The banal responses from libertarians and GOP-corporatists to pushback against businesses for censorship or imposing mask mandates or forcing their employees to be indoctrinated with Critical Race Theory runs along the lines of … nobody is forcing you to use Twitter … build your own Facebook, if you don’t like it … shop somewhere else (when that somewhere else is hours away because Walmart, Amazon and then other behemoths have crushed small business) … find a new job.
The underlying justification for these banal responses is that we somehow don’t have free-market capitalism unless businesses are free to do whatever they want to their customers and employees. That is just bunk. Preventing businesses from, for example, demeaning and dehumanizing their employees by subjecting them to Critical Race Theory … which is the American Left’s version of the Cultural Revolution … does NOTHING to interfere with free-market capitalism.
So my response to the libertarians and GOP-corporatists spewing this false ideology is … you don’t like not being able to indoctrinate your employees in Critical Race Theory, then find another State to do business in.
