Donating to AOC’s “Abuela” is Elitism, Not Conservatism.

So …. a few days ago AOC tweeted this …

Which prompted this reply from NeverTrump Matt Walsh and this surreply from AOC ….

which led to Walsh setting up a GoFundMe for abuela …

Corporate conservatives, such as Ben Shapiro, predictably thought it was hilarious and donated:

(In case you are unaware, AOC drives a Tesla.)

Eventually, the GoFundMe raised $100,000, before being shut down because AOC informed GoFundMe that abuela would NOT accept the money:

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh revealed on Saturday that the “family” of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s grandmother will not be accepting the money he raised to repair her home after the New York Democrat blamed former President Donald Trump for blocking aid that was supposed to be sent to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

So … it’s their money and they have the right to do whatever they want with it, but I also have a right to say what they are doing is elitism, not conservatism.  While $500 is just the proverbial drop in the bucket for Walsh and Shapiro, the $100,000 in donations to Abuela … all “to own AOC” … could have made a real difference to people on our side who desperately need help:
