Dan Richard has been trying to seek redress from his Government (the NH Legislature as according to the NH Constitution) on a couple of bills that were passed; GraniteGrok has been posting up his various Remonstances and articles on this effort to simply have Government do what it is mandated to do.
NH Speaker of the House Shurtleff and NH Senate President Donna Soucy (both Democrats) refused to follow their Constitutionally mandated roles in bringing his Remonstrances (two of them) to the full General Court (House, Senate). After the election, it seems that both newly elected NH Speaker of the House Sherm Packard and NH Senate President Chuck Morse (both Republicans) are doing the same “dig their heels in” and following the Democrat lead in using the “ignore / wait him out and he’ll go away” technique.
Silly people – they really don’t know Dan Richard.
So he filed a Writ of Mandamus that will FORCE the matter of his Remonstrances into Court. The Webex is schedule to start for his case at 2:30pm TODAY (there are others beforehand). Reformatted, emphasis mine:

Government should NOT be hiding from those that it needs consent from to be legitimate. Nor should Government be ducking its responsibilities from carrying out ALL of the Constitutional mandates.
Constitutions are created to limit, fence in, and corral Government structures and activities and granting ONLY those Powers that are needful. But it takes people within government to internalize those values for it to work.
The leaders of the NH House and NH Senate, both Democrat and Republican, have shown us that they believe it no longer applies to them (and the present Governor as well). Hopefully, the judge assigned to this case will strictly follow our Constitution and make a judgement that is also limited by it (as opposed to participating in Judicial Activism; if so, let him or her run for office instead of sitting on a Judicial Throne).
