Mitch McConnell is not happy that many Democrats want to do away with the Senate’s filibuster:
McConnell recently penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, in which he listed all his reasons for not ending the filibuster including this:
McConnell is assuming that the 2020 election was a one-off. That the Democrat Party and its allies in Big Tech and the corporate media will not use the voter-fraud, election-rigging tactics that they used against Trump to keep control of the Senate.
This is hopelessly naive thinking. The Left’s immediate goal was to take out Trump because Trump represented their greatest obstacle. But taking out Trump was not and is not the ultimate goal. That goal is total power.
And if that requires going after the GOP Senators running for reelection in 2022 the same way they went after Trump, you can be damn sure that they won’t hesitate.
The political rules-of-engagement have changed forever and Mitch is blind to it.
