Does This Piss Those ‘Journalists’ Off?

It’s fun to think about how a few unpaid hobbyists with no sales team or ad budget (working off donations) consistently attracts more online-eyeballs than every print media outlet in the state. We think it’s hilarious.

And no, we’ve not properly monetized this traffic, no time. I guess what we need is a sales guy or gal with the technical skills to manage the back-end ad space on commission – a percentage of the ad dollars generated as compensation. Hey, if you are that person or know them, connect us, please.

As for the rankings, they’ve been good all month and most of this year so far. It is not necessarily better than past years but better than all of these portals, which is encouraging and motivation to hold our ground while looking for ways to improve the content or the experience.

And I think we will continue to have a bright future. With a few exceptions, they are all peddling the same message. Writing about the same stories from the same angles. Ignoring stories that really matter or perspectives on those stories that deviate from the mass-media-vanilla.

It has created a success made possible thanks to readers, looking for a different take and inviting others to check that out.
