Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends…

No, this is not a post about Emerson Lake and Palmers Karn Evil 9. (First Impression Part 2). Well, not exactly. And the exhibits are not exclusively our own, but it is the show that never ends. Politics. And, as it turns out, election season.

There was a time not that long ago when we got a break from the noise, but not anymore. Those are days of yore when some room was left to breathe. These days, we are left breathless daily over the next great outrage, event, or news.

Good for blogging but not for peace of mind. So, with the Electoral College set to meet in two days and the challenges rising and falling, the show that never ends has another act.

Long story short, the idea is to get the court to force states who have failed in their duty to secure their elections from fraud to de-certify the results, therefore de-certifying electors – more or less.

How or why? According to Powell’s filing,

While the U.S. Constitution itself accords no right to vote for presidential electors, “[w]hen the state legislature vests the right to vote for president in its people, the right to vote as the legislature has prescribed is fundamental; and one source of its fundamental nature lies in the equal weight accorded to each vote and the equal dignity owed to each voter.” Bush v. Gore.

The evidence shows not only that respondents failed to administer the November 3, 2020 election in compliance with the manner prescribed by the Georgia legislature in the Georgia Election Code, but that [Georgia officials] through their policies, practices and procedures departed from the Georgia Election Code and thereby left the door wide open for schemes and artifices to fraudulently and illegally manipulate the vote count to make certain the election of Biden as president of the United States.

This conduct violated the rights of petitioners as presidential electors to a constitutional election under the Elections and Electors, Equal Protection, and Due Process clauses.

I’m no lawyer, and not all lawyers will be able to dance to this tune, but it sounds good from here. But good enough to matter? I’m not optimistic.

Far too many have turned a blind eye to the improprieties that, were things in reverse, would have been a never-ending bombshell of media assaults declaring war on the democracy, etc.

We live in a Constitutional Republic, the media are idiots, but these idoits move needles, and speaking of those, we’ll all be getting them under restraint if Biden wins, and he may.

I’m not happy about that and hoping for a different result, but whichever way it goes it is the show never ends.

We’ll be doing what we do until they drag us away in handcuffs. Hopefully, they are not new cuffs. I hear those are a little tighter ‘cuz they’re not broken in yet. That’s dark humor. Get used to it.
