Rick Santelli was, IMHO, the one who kicked off the whole TEA Party movement with his rant on CNBC concerning what Obama was doing at the time. The object was Obama’s idea that ALL of us should bail out those whose homes were either in or threatened to be foreclosed. Trouble was, we all knew of folks that had refinanced, financed again, and continued to refinance and each time, took out equity out of their houses (prices were skyrocketing at the time) and went on fancy vacations, bought expensive cars, boats, and other toys, and other things even as they were mortgaged up to the hilt.
We had bought LESS house than what we could have – but the people across the street didn’t. They used to gather on their front porch and they were loud on their phone calls I could hear the transactions. Yet Obama wanted to bail THEM out?
Yes, I listened to Santelli – we ought to listen again as to what the lockdowns are doing now.
