Once the pillars of faith and the family weaken, the rest of America begins to collapse. Lincoln gave us a warning in 1858. He told us “a house divided against itself cannot stand.”
The gap left by the removal of the pillars of faith and family gives progressives an opening. They are able to introduce policies destabilizing American society.
For example, Government policy encourages single parenting. This has led to the loss of fathers. Males are today sperm donors. Fathers should be an essential individual in every child’s life. Why is single parenting good for mother, father, children, or society? It’s not.
Progressives attack religious freedom and the role of churches. Churches play a strong role in creating a “safety net” government never can equal. Churches feed both the body and the soul. No government has ever done that and none ever will.
Where is philanthropy in the constitution?
Much of the out-of-control government spending is tied to government philanthropy. The government is bent on both takeover and destruction of both religious institutions. Religions teach self-reliance and personal responsibility. The government fosters dependence, tyranny, and the conditions necessary for creation of slavery.
Faith, family, and personal sacrifice can heal our nation. These things are implicit in a Judeo-Christian lifestyle. They provide a conservative, faith-based response to our nation’s various ailments. Family breakdown has been a primary factor in the societal chaos we are experiencing. It has is driving massive government spending.
Historically, America did with faith what no amount of throwing money at an issue can accomplish. Leftism, Marxism enables the very behaviors continuing the cycle of despair and destabilization. The decreased role of faith has led to the breakdown of the community.
Debt is a future obligation
The exception today is neighbors helping neighbors. We are without the other societal supports government cannot recreate. Leftists try with their governmental God equivalents. They try to pass off massive spending as caring. It is not that at all. It is debt and future obligation. This only perpetuates problems instead of solving them.
The disregard for and mocking of religious faith and the values is corrosive to civil society. Religion values selflessness and the personal responsibility it instills. Progressivism, Marxism leads to a nation that values its privileges over its principles. The result of thirsting for privilege over principle is that the nation “soon loses both.” That was President Eisenhower’s warning to us in his 1953 inaugural address.
Both family and faith go to the essence of what makes a healthy society. A functional, healthy family provides for and equips the next generation to be self-reliant citizens. A society without healthy families, one with families dependent upon government programs for their sustenance will fail. It fails to provide the next generation with the tools and the confidence to succeed in life.
