Minnesota Wants $500 Million for Riot Repairs, President Trump says, No!

If Democrat mayors and governors who let the mobs have their way with the local landscape thought the Feds would bail them out on repair costs they better think again. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz bellied up to the federal trough and asked for $500 million to rebuild and Mr. Trump said nope.

Rep Duncan is not from MN, but Rep. Tom Emmer is, and he lobbied the White House to refuse any request for aid.

“If the federal government is expected to assist in the clean-up of these unfortunate weeks, it has an obligation to every American — prior to the release of funding — to fully understand the events which allowed for this level of destruction to occur and ensure it never happens again,”

In other words, you broke it (or let it get broke); you fix it.

Think about how that might look.

Property owners and their insurance companies need to line up the lawsuits now. Make the city go on the record and report their actions. We want discovery!

Even if they are unsuccessful – there’s no legal requirement for the police to do anything – if the mayor’s office told them to do nothing, that might be another matter.

And the president did offer to provide military back up to most if not all of these Democrat governors or mayors, all of whom (I believe) said, no thanks. Well, okay then. Actions (and inactions) have consequences, and this might be doubly problematic for Dems.

The government has few, if any, actual responsibilities, but Democrats (in particular) assume many more at great taxpayer expense. They live to infringe on individual rights and responsibilities, so guess what? You own this.

You want to run and control everything, and this is how you ran it. This is your man-caused  Democrat-caused disaster; you deal with it. Taxpayers may still be bailing out your failing ideology (welfare, food stamps, housing, abortions, etc.) but not this time.

It’s a great move—tough love.

I am looking forward to the chorus of whining libs who thought they’d be able to force American taxpayers to pay the bill for their destructive #wokeness. Many of whom, I suspect, will now blame Mr. Trump for what they did and did not do.

But since when was that not the case.
