I couldn’t put it any better (reformatted, emphasis mine) than the post itself other than calling it a “military grade MRAP” is like calling an AR-15 “military grade” (for the anti-gunners, an AR-15 is NOT “military grade”) so here it is:
AS YALI ELKIN SAYS ON FACEBOOK, this picture brings a whole new meaning to “plate carrier.”
Certainly does look like these two have been packing on a lot of plates lately – just not those that go into those now teeny tiny protective vests. Actually, I’m betting that the vest are “normal” – just not on these two. I can hear these two now in chasing down alleged criminals: “Crap, they’re jogging away! NOW whaddawe gonna do???”
So, let’s unpack this a bit. First, sheriffs shouldn’t have armored vehicles. Second, sheriffs who have armored vehicles shouldn’t use them to shut down salons [actually, a bar -Skip] for violating a quarantine order. Third, law enforcement officers shouldn’t be grossly obese. Fourth, law enforcement officers who are grossly obese shouldn’t be mincing around like tactical hippos.
Finally: So many libertarians are unhappy with the way things are going, when they should be delighted at how they’re making the powers that be look ridiculous. For all the BS TV shows like NCIS, this is much closer to the true face of law enforcement in America. Rub their noses, and protruding bellies, in it.
…ANOTHER UPDATE: From the comments: “Sadly, they also don’t realize how ridiculous they look, using a tank to close down a bar, hair salon, or whatever. This screams ‘RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH!!!’, while tacitly admitting that nobody respects your authoritah.” Yes, if people respect your authority you don’t need an MRAP. Of course, they don’t really think they need it here. It’s just in the garage and they want an excuse to take it out for a spin. Better leadership would have known better, of course.
MY question is how the heck are these two blubberbutts passing the yearly physical tests?
I’ve noticed, too, that in getting ready for the election, NH Gov Sununu has slimmed down quite a bit – good for him as it isn’t easy. However, since there is no political campaigning “chicken dinner” circuit going on right now because of his Emergency Order for no gatherings of more than 10 people, it’s much easier.
Wait, WAIT! Is that why we’re all in lockdown??? To help him lose weight??? (heh!). Still, good on him for the weight loss. However, if this keeps up, we may all be on the Venezuelan diet if the lockdowns keeps up and food stocks go down. To the latter, this is what happens when Government decides it knows best what’s for the economy (“My job is to be the central economic planner for NH”)
Although if he keeps talking like in his most recent presser, the weight loss may not help much.
