The New Hampshire Democrat Party’s Dishonest Defense of Chris Pappas’ #Norogate

Chris Pappas Resist

If you are reading this, I’m sure you’ve read all about what I am calling #Norogate … the outbreak of Norovirus at Chris Pappas’ restaurant, the Puritan Backroom, AND its coverup by the New Hampshire Deep State and the New Hampshire #FakeNews.

From Steve’s initial post (emphasis is mine):

Congressman Chris Pappas owns the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire. In late November, 18 people contracted intestinal issues later identified as Norovirus. Not one local news outlet identified Congressman Pappas’ restaurant as the source in their reporting.

From NH Journal, which broke the story:

Meanwhile, there’s the odd occurrence of multiple media reports about the outbreak but no mention of the name of the restaurant.  Other “function halls” (aka “restaurants”) certainly haven’t received the same courtesy. A 2015 WMUR story about a possible norovirus outbreak in Boston was headlined: “80 Boston students report getting sick after eating at Chipotle.”

The same with Pawtuckaway State Park and a cruise ship docked in Portland, Maine. In both cases, WMUR reported the location of the potential outbreak.

“If there’s a norovirus outbreak in a public place like a restaurant, it should be reported publicly and immediately,” Alderman Levasseur told NHJournal.

He also notes — and the Manchester Health Department website confirms — that the Puritan Backroom has not had a health inspection since February. Manchester restaurants are supposed to be inspected by the Environmental Health Division at least once every six months.

Now check out this tweet from Kathy Sullivan, one of the “leaders” of the New Hampshire Democrat Party:

Notice the sleight of hand. The #Norogate scandal has two parts, the Norovirus infestation at the Backroom AND JUST AS IMPORTANTLY the #FakeNews coverup. Sullivan ignores the latter (while trivializing the former.)

She also employs a combination of What-Aboutism/Orange-Man-Bad to defend the indefensible:

Norovirus outbreak at the Backroom … press cover-up? Oh yeah … well, what about Trump … BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.

Deny, deflect… Such blatant dishonesty. Won’t be long until the New Hampshire Democrat Party is calling #Norogate a “right-wing conspiracy theory.”
