Here is another statistic to chill the icy hearts of Trump-hating liberals everywhere. A CNBC survey indicates Mr. Trump’s favorability or approval among business owners has reached a new high.
Sixty percent of small business owners approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president, the highest approval rating number since CNBC and SurveyMonkey began its quarterly Small Business Survey in 2017.
Small business owners typically are a conservative-leaning group. Approval of Trump never has been below 51% in the almost three-year history of the survey. Support for Trump rose to 60% from 57% in the third quarter 2019.
Is this poll impacted by partisanship? Well, it sure as heckfire is!
Ninety-three percent of Republican business owners approve of Trump, while 86% of Democrats disapprove. Among Independents, 37% approve while 62% disapprove.
Democrats: Business is booming but orange man bad! Must support socialists who will destroy the economy and (probably) put me out of business. Only then will I feel safe. An idea to which we can add this. Republicans are more likely to see a negative impact on the future if Trump is impeached while Democrats don’t see that at all.
Seventy percent of those who disapprove of Trump say impeachment is unlikely to impact their business.
That’s partly true. If Mr. Trump were impeached, Mike Pence would be president. And while I feel confident Pence is more an establishment Republican who will be influenced by rouges and apparatchiks in the swampy DC infrastructure, I would not expect any significant change in favorable economic policy in a run-up to an election.
I would, however, expect the markets and other indicates to begin nosing downward. Trump’s not getting impeached, but if he were absent from the 2020 contest, this improves the odds of one of the Left’s Marxist aspirants to win the office and tank the economy for good.
