Congressman Chris Pappas owns the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire. In late November, 18 people contracted intestinal issues later identified as Norovirus. Not one local news outlet identified Congressman Pappas’ restaurant as the source in their reporting.

Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. Anyone can get infected and sick with norovirus. You can get sick from:

- Having direct contact with an infected person
- Consuming contaminated food or water
- Touching contaminated surfaces then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth
Media Bias is also very contagious. It can lead to not reporting the source of the infections when they happen to be a business owned by a Democrat member of congress. Michael Graham at InsideSources, has more on that.
Documents obtained by NHJournal confirm that patrons of the Puritan Backroom reported their illness, and their belief it was contracted at the restaurant, to state authorities on November 27, three days after their gathering. Public reports came out in the press on December 5, well after the facts were known to state and local governments. And yet there was no mention of the Puritan Backroom.
And the owners of the restaurant — Rep. Pappas and his family–still haven’t made a public statement.
Perhaps they are unsure how to frame their half-hearted attempt to save the plant by relieving it of a handful of locals? Norovirus is not typically fatal, but death is an option. And yes, writing that will probably piss off more Democrats than their institutions hiding the facts related to a threat to public health.
Meanwhile, there’s the odd occurrence of multiple media reports about the outbreak but no mention of the name of the restaurant. Other “function halls” (aka “restaurants”) certainly haven’t received the same courtesy. A 2015 WMUR story about a possible norovirus outbreak in Boston was headlined: “80 Boston students report getting sick after eating at Chipotle.”
The same with Pawtuckaway State Park and a cruise ship docked in Portland, Maine. In both cases, WMUR reported the location of the potential outbreak.
Did Pappas, inc. make a few calls or was this just a gimme on the part of every major news outlet in the state, along with local agencies tasked with documenting and reporting issues to health and safety?
Do you feel safer knowing the free press is not free at all? How about that your Democrat congressman of the people has yet to own up, apologize, or make any statement, an entire month after the outbreak? Or, that your progressively lead media watchdogs or local administrative state felt it more important to protect a politician than the people?
