His Twitter announcement can be seen here. What a freaking waste of time since he said he was going to run; right up to the water’s edge and then refused to go.
The harm has now been done to Bolduc and O’Brien as their funding froze up. Messner seems to be self-funding so the specter of Corey running and then sucking up cash didn’t hurt him as much. However, it is the TIME that is the biggest hit – Corey sucked the oxygen out of this primary for no good reason at all. Four long months – is he in? Is he out? Is he in? Is he out? All the time saying he’d be the #1 candidate.
Now he’s made this race nothing but a #2. Stupid, stupid, stupid. All he’s effectively done is short circuit funding on the right and Shaheen has had the last four months mugging for funding, shaking with fear about running against Trump, McConnell – and an apparition (when it comes right down to it).
So Corey, how much were you able to raise for her campaign with this stunt versus how much couldn’t be raised by those you left behind? You taunted Bolduc, O’Brien, and Messner for months that you could beat them AND Jeanne Shaheen – you’ve now tainted them and probably handed her the win strictly on time and finances. Sunk Opportunity Costs 360.
When it all comes down to it, sad to say, you couldn’t live up to your own words. You said you could win – lots of money, Trump’s your friend, froze out the competition. You said you could win – then why didn’t you live up to your verbiage? All you’ve accomplished has been a lot of smoke and mirrors – never mind that person behind the curtain now comes to mind. Why didn’t you live up to your public convictions about winning?
We may never know. No matter – Corey has left the building. Now the problem is someone else’s. Poor form, indeed.
Oh, last thing – after being the attention hog at a critical time in the race, will anyone WANT his endorsement?
