Does Chris ‘Poison the People’ Pappas have a Corpse on His Hands?

Chris Pappas Resist

Pajama Boy Chris ‘poison the people’ Pappas will have to come “clean” one way or the other about people getting sick at the Family restaurant. Including one “unconfirmed” (cause of) death.

One person did die. But no one is willing to say that the Norovirus contracted at the event at Pappas’ restaurant, the (not so) Puritan Backroom, in Manchester, was the cause or complication leading to that death. But then, until yesterday, no one in the media or the regulatory infrastructure was willing even to say where the outbreak took place.

Take that to mean whatever you like, but if Pappas was a Republican, I think we know how differently this would have all played out.

Rules and Laws

The (not so) Puritan Backroom was overdue for a regular visit from the health inspector. That’s not all that uncommon, but taken alongside everything else, it’s suspicious. Now that there’s been a health and safety issue, it is problematic. And yes, they’ve since been and gone. Quiet like a thief, until suddenly (after yesterday), everyone is going public!

WMUR reports that,

The state tasked Manchester health officials to inspect the conference center. Officials said there was no specific ongoing norovirus risk from that establishment.

“As a result of this assessment and in consultation with the NH DHHS, it was determined that there was no imminent hazard to the public and thus no public notification. Had there been an imminent hazard, immediate action would have been taken,” Philip J. Alexakos, chief operations officer of the Manchester Health Department, told WMUR.

Three and one-half weeks of silence and now everyone is all chatty! Including the Puritan Backroom (also care of WMUR)

“The Manchester Health Department visited the Puritan in response to an event that was hosted in the Conference Center on November 24th. Of the 46 guests that attended the event, the Health Department told us 18 guests later became ill, including one guest who sadly passed away from unidentified causes. We have communicated our condolences to the family and we express our deepest sympathies in this difficult time.

“Promoting public health and excellent food safety practices are top priorities of the Puritan. We have been in contact with the Manchester Health Department in the past month and appreciate their prompt attention to this concerning situation. As soon as we were contacted by the Health Department, they performed an inspection and did not identify any public health concerns. According to the state’s conclusions communicated to us by email, ‘Outbreak of norovirus due to indeterminate transmission — no ill food handlers or attendees at the time of the event, and no statistically significant food items were identified.’

“The expertise and insight the Health Department has provided, along with that of the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, is so crucial to evaluate information and ensure best practices. The Puritan is confident that we are doing everything we can to maintain those safe and best practices everyday. We will continue to work with public health officials and thank them for their diligent response.”

Isn’t it interesting what a difference a day can make? Yesterday morning it was a mystery. Today it’s nothing to see here. They proudly announce that ” we were all over it.” Everyone did their job. Nothing to see here. Move along!

Glad to hear it. But why the cover-up in the first place?

And what else are you hiding that no one needs to know until new media makes it into a publicity problem? Like the details on the cause of death of at least one Norovirus infected patron of that facility and its catering services?

And we’re supposed to trust them to run the entire health care system?
