In a mini tweetstorm, AFP-NH Executive director Greg Moore shared a raft of news regarding the Granite State. Most of it, good. We’re ‘growing’ by attracting people to come live and work here.
And our neighboring states, each on different parts of the slippery-slope to radical Democrat socialism, are working hard to make New Hampshire that much more desirable. Their own state’s less so.
The minimum wage goes up in half of New England on January 1st.
There’s more at the link, but let’s focus on the new details. New Hampshire has a net increase in population due to people choosing to come here. That includes young people, and that matters if we want to get back into the plus column concerning replacement value.
Failed liberal and socialist states tend toward demographic decline. People stop having enough children to replace people who die. Instead of having two-point-three children they one or none. It is a death spiral with both demographic and economic consequences. Nobodies to sustain anything, including the cost of the political state that drove the demographic change.
Hint: Leftist Green politics is self-destructive to their economic narratives. It’s like going back in time and hitching a ride on the first voyage of the Titanic or the last of the Hindenburg. Disaster is imminent; you just chose to ignore that fact for whatever reason. Mental illness, perhaps?
And we have that. Making New Hampshire Great was difficult. Keeping it Great takes a lot more work. We’re here to help, but that means everyone gets anyone they know who is willing (and some who are not) to get involved.
Finally, when I read the news I, naturally (or not), started humming the theme to Green Acres. “New Hampshire is the place for me…”
That, naturally (or not), lead me to change the lyrics to suit the moment.
New Hampshire is the place to be.
Free Livin’ is the life for me.
Liberty spreadin’ out so far and wide
Get lost Comrades, I’m the one who decides.
Democrats (refrain)
New York is where I’d rather be.
I’m allergic to the FSP.
I just adore op-press-ive states.
Dah-ling, you’re not free; just give up and don’t be late.
I could do better, or maybe not. No contest, but feel free, as you should, to do better. And by that, I do not mean folks (you know who you are) ranting about how we’re not free or how we should be freer. Sure we should. But to get there from here we need to hold this ground. Ground that is looking better to more people.
We hold it! Then press forward.
Here’s the original if you have no idea what I’m referring to or have blocked it out.
