Washington Post: ‘Impeachment will make the president hellbent on the destruction of the civil service.’ WaPo complained that Trump was on his usual tear on people. My response? Big deal.
They know what the rules are – the Federal civil service is a protected class all on its own. If you’ve been paying attention, you know that many (if not a majority) are Democrats; there’s all that about the #Resist and #Resistance movement, right? Just think of what happened with Master Chief Gallagher, Admiral Green, and the Secretary of the Navy? While that’s within DOD, stories over the last three years showing how “experts” and bureaucrats have shown their willingness to believe that THEY are the torchbearers that must protect America rather than doing their jobs: that they report to the President (be it Obama or Trump) and are tasked with carrying out the PRESIDENT’S direction.
And then they don’t, they should be resigning. Or, welcome the form of their Destructor.
Being a civil servant is not an entitlement and there are protections in place from political interference. It should not be a political group for its own interests; when it does, the notion of “public servant” is no more.
But there are no protections for the President from insubordination of his reports other than “You’re Fired!”, is there?
