Explosives Found in Abandoned Home at 108 Indian Acres Drive – Hinsdale, New Hampshire

To wrap yesterday’s news, explosives were found in a home in Indian Acres, in Hinsdale New Hampshire. The property had been abandoned for 20 years. The new owner was doing some renovation when he came across what appeared to be pipe bombs.

According to the Hinsdale Tax Collector’s Office, the house at 108 Indian Acres Drive was previously owned by Mitchell “Pete” Karpinski, who died in February in Brattleboro. …Sgt. Jeffrey Dade, commander of the N.H. State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, said EOD personnel found what appeared to be five pipe bombs and “multiple” hand grenades….

In a press release issued just past 7 p.m. on Thursday, Faulkner noted that of the five pipe bombs recovered by EOD, two were found to be inert and three were “live.”

Dade said even though the devices were packed with explosive material, there was no danger to the public or his disposal unit members.

The EOD unit detonated the material according to the report, at an old firing range on River Road.
