If you forgot, and it’s easy, Joe Walsh is running for the Republican nomination for President. Joe has had a rough start. And a few weeks in, his team is not making it any easier on him. They announced an Iowa event as in the Granite State.
In a tweet promoting a meet and greet in Iowa, Walsh mistakenly referred to the Hawkeye State as “the Granite State,” which is New Hampshire’s nickname.
“Friends in Iowa, join us tonight for a pop up in Des Moines celebrating our team’s first official trip to the Granite State and the launch of our campaign podcast,” Walsh wrote.
Yeah, we can grow corn in New Hampshire, but I don’t think you’ll find much Granite in Iowa. Igneous, plastic plutons (yes, I looked it up), glacial age debris, but no Granite.
The tweet has since been deleted and replaced.
Hey, at least they spelled Iowa correctly.
Walsh campaign manager Lucy Caldwell wrote on Twitter that she made the mistake on Walsh’s Twitter account, saying that she sent the “tweet about Iowa while simultaneously planning our team’s next trip to” New Hampshire.
“Lucky for me, I work for a candidate who laughs off his team’s errors, unlike the current president, who makes his staff walk the gangplank for his own mistakes!” Caldwell continued.
Yeah, the guy with the booming economy and putting all the minorities back to work. Bringing manufacturing back to America and putting people who’ve been screwing us on trade for decades on notice. That guy. Doing one of the few things the government should try to do. Get the hell out of the way. And while he’s at it, another thing; getting everyone else’s government the hell out of our way.
Now if we could just do something about that frikkin’ budget.
