Connor Betts was a Cop-Hating, Squad-Loving, Antifa-Supporting, Gun Control fan of Liz Warren

Ohio mass-murderer Connor Betts was a registered democrat. But not just any run-o-the-mill dem. He was a Kool-Aid® drinking, gun-grabbing, Antifa-supporting, Leftist.

No surprises except that we even know this.

In the wake of the tragedy in Ohio (or any such event) the media marathon to find out anything about anyone (before anyone else) is intense. The compulsion to hide it is equally fierce. I understand both sides of that.

Some say this sort of attention is what the perpetrator is after. That this promise of a spotlight encourages others toward copycat crimes. I suspect that’s true. But the cure for that is not the suppression of speech it is the end of advertised gun-free zones and a lawfully armed citizenry.

The odds that your fame will be limited to “attempted mass shooter gunned down by concealed carry citizen” could have a chilling effect on the practice. If your media future is limited to a pine box, a poorly attended funeral, and a footnote in the local press, well, there’s no fame in that. You’re just another dead a**hole.

But the Left is obsessed with turning every corner of your life into a gun-free zone. A target-rich environment for nutjobs. They are handing out invitations (in this instance) to their own nutjobs.

Connor Betts, the Dayton Ohio mass-murderer, was steeping in left-wing, pro-Antifa, anti-religious sentiment, and democrat party rhetoric. And he loved AOC and her squad.

That doesn’t make them responsible for his actions. That’s on Connor. No one else pulled the trigger. But the progressive culture that facilitates civilian disarmament and the fear of firearms are to blame, and the Left owns that.

Even now Democrats are working to create more places where individuals, who find themselves incapable of grappling with the world, feel compelled to take their rage out on innocents they know are likely disarmed.

The only defense against that is the immediate presence of equal or greater force, which is impossible if we allow the Left to use fear to disarm us. Connor had about a minute to do his killing before good guys (the police) arrived with guns to shoot him.

Armed law-abiding citizens on the scene would have responded the moment he represented a threat to human life. About 59 seconds sooner.

Instead of nine dead perhaps we’d have had none or only one, Connor. And while that would still be a tragedy, we didn’t invite that upon him; he did that when he chose to break the law.
