Nike had planned to launch an athletic Shoe today in celebration of the 4th of July but halted the release. Why? Colin Kaepernick thinks the Flag on the heel is an “offensive symbol because of its connection to an era of slavery.”

It’s the original Thirteen stars and stripes flag attributed to Betsy Ross. And, in my opinion, a major error on the part of Nike. Sen Cruz had similar thoughts.
It’s a good thing @Nike only wants to sell sneakers to people who hate the American flag…. @NFL #HappyFourth https://t.co/G6w8vDjvLP

So, we’ve got the cost and logistics of dumping all that inventory to appease an identity politics ax-grinder while losing not just the sales but the hearts and minds of millions who might have purchased them despite past indiscretions by the corporate behemoth.
Then there’s the flag. Kaepernick is picking nits. That flag was the product of a movement that recognized all men as equal with rights from God not government. Ideas without which we might not have ended slavery or ended it as soon as we did.
Meanwhile, Colin, and his sniveling, knee-bending antics, are advancing universal slavery to the will of the state. He’s standing for the oppression he claims to oppose.
What a douche bag.
