Armed Home Invaders vs AR-15 Armed Homeowner Goes About as Well as You’d Expect

A Summerfield Florida man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen after exchanging fire with intruders in his Summerfield Florida home. The home invaders didn’t fare so well.

The homeowner told the detective he was awakened by a loud noise and grabbed his AR-15, which was near his bed. He saw a masked person inside the home, he said, and he and the intruders exchanged gunfire. He said he shot at the man in the mask and at a second person coming toward him.

Both of those dudes are dead. Two other perpetrators were chased down by officers with a police dog (named Nitro) in the nearby fauna.

The four men had planned to use their guns to rob the homeowner of his firearms (and marijuana), according to reports.

Nigel Doyle, 22, of Summerfield, and Keith Jackson Jr., 21, Ocala, were killed. Robert John Hamilton, 19, of Ocala, and Seth Adam Rodriguez, 22, of Belleview — were detained near the scene.

That didn’t work out quite the way they’d planned. “As for the homeowner, detectives said there are no charges against him and nothing prevents him from owning guns.”

I guess they didn’t find any marijuana.
