Today Governor Sununu Signed Twenty Bills and Vetoed Eight

veto sununu nh

I’m not familiar with everything on the list of bills that left the Governor’s desk today. But I do recognize a few of the vetoed bills and New Hampshire should be happy he rejected them.

SB20 meddled unnecessarily with work hours and other requirements for youth and student workers. This was a solution looking for a problem, which means it created a problem for employers and employees — a hallmark of Democrat political antics.

In his veto message for SB20 the Governor noted that, Sununu Veto Message SB20

SB72 would have made electricity more expensive for no reason other than Democrat guilt and posturing about climate cult lies we’ve exposed here at length. Renewable Portfolio Standards are market-warping hidden taxes that hurt everyone, especially job creators and low-income folks; SB72 sought to expand the harm.  In his Veto Message for SB72 Governor Sununu says as much.Sununu Veto Message SB72

SB275 set goals to have all state vehicles be zero-emission by 2039. So-called zero-emissions vehicles are still as carbon intensive (in some cases more) than fossil fuel vehicles. The only zero in this legislation is the impact it would have on CO2 if you are still convinced that matters. In exchange, we’d waste tens of millions taken from taxpayers for nothing. Gov. Sununu notes the cost as a primary factor in his vetoSununu Veto Message SB275

The last vetoed bill  I’ll point out is the first on the list below. HB409 doubled the transportation fee surcharge on vehicle registrations. Another tax/fee hike, of which we’ll see many more. Veto Message here:Sununu Veto message HB409

The complete list of vetoed and signed bills from today is below. Feel free to chime in on them in comments or on Facebook. Plenty more to follow.
